All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). kelly kettle - protected edit

Because the kelly kettle and volcano kettle are brand names, they do not merit their own page. I do not support this. The item is made by several manufacturers and a brand-name page is thought of as not more than an advert and not appropriate for wikipedia. I think it would be better to have kelly kettle redirected to the storm kettle page, which is how it was. If you really really think kelly kettle deserves a page, you could create a "kelly kettle company" article, but it also may be nominated for speedy deletion. I had originally combined a seperate article on the "thermette" in storm kettle because it is a similar device.

In some countries, some brand names have become generized, e.g., aspirin, thermos, xerox, whilst in others they are still brand names. Even so, I suspect that kelly kettle and ghillie kettle are being used this way even if the brand name is trademarked. --Fremte (talk) 18:59, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
