Dinglewood and other NRHPs in Georgia

Hi Shark96z, I was glad to notice your edit to National Register of Historic Places listings in Georgia, counties M, and then your development of Dinglewood, Columbus, Georgia and some other area articles. I myself work mostly on articles about U.S. NRHP sites nationwide, and supporting list-articles. I think there have not been many active Georgians on this topic yet, so I am hopeful you might be interested in taking pics of historic sites and developing articles. There are some neat tools which help in developing articles about NRHP places, such as to provide filled out NRHP infoboxes to put into articles. Let me know if you are interested in learning about the tools available, and please feel free to post at my Talk page. Keep up the good work! doncram (talk) 03:43, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Template issues

I'm of the opinion that we should divide up the template contents in order that the templates have minimal overlap. I am not in favor of having one monster template. The bar templates you have made are unobtrusive, but the stacked column template is good for insertion into larger articles with a Lutheranism section in them. So, what parts do you think should be in "your" template, and what do you think should be in "mine"? My suggestion is to keep the theology stuff under the column template because those tend to be larger articles with Lutheranism sections. The history section is also like that. You may take the "Globally" section for your template if you would like. Also, I hope I didn't mess up your "Prayers" template too much.--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 22:18, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: Identifying vandalism

I don't mind you asking at all. :) I use Lupin's anti-vandal tool, which is a great set of scripts that essentially watch the RSS feed from the recent changes and compare changes against a list of "bad words." It then has one-click rollback and warn features. There are a whole bunch of other tools for finding vandalism, as well, so you might want to look into those. Let me know if you have any more questions! --McMillin24 contribstalk 05:57, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Rollback

I have 1 granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. –Juliancolton | Talk 20:35, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Columbus populations

Your edits re Columbus's population are a problem. Columbus is the fourth-largest "metro area" and third-largest "combined statistical area" in Georgia. Metropolitan areas are defined as Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs), and these are the populations recorded as "metro" by the US Census, all almanacs, and all encyclopedias. Are we to make an exception for Wikipedia? The Combined Statistical Area is a different yardstick entirely, and when you use it (as you did under Georgia cities), you must identify it as such and be sure to include the 2008 populations for all the other Georgia CSAs. But you should also list the MSA populations as well, as these are "metropolitan" and linked to smaller ("micropolitan") cities such as Valdosta. Not to do so is strictly POV.Mason.Jones (talk) 23:58, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

RFA

A thick skin is always needed for this sort of thing. I think you will make a great Admin if you focus on Constructive Edits. If you want to run again for a successful RFA soon, I would advise that you pull your RFA. I think that all you might get are the same old "piling on" votes from now on. Find an admin willing to close this for you.(eg Kevin Rutherford) - Good Luck and Happy editing. - Ret.Prof (talk) 13:34, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Hey, just wanted to congratulate you on your bold move with running for admin, even if it might be a little early. I would really recommend running again in a year-- I think you'll do fine then. I reviewed your page and didn't see your service award...so here it is. Every self-respecting editor needs to keep one of these so he can remind himself he's doing a good job. Your recent RfA

I am sorry, but I have closed your Request for adminship prematurely. Simply put, you only have 2,356 edits on Wikipedia; while your edit count isn't the only determining factor, and numerous people have their own personal standards by which they judge RfA candidates, this particular RfA was all but assured of not passing.

I am sorry about this, and I hope you don't take it personally. If you continue to contribute to the project in a positive fashion, I am confident that you would be able to submit a successful RfA in the future. You may wish to consider applying for an evaluation by other Wikipedia editors for feedback on how to obtain the necessary experience. Once you are ready to request adminship again, there is a great admin coaching program available, as well as a guide to requests for adminship.

If you have any other questions about becoming an administrator, please don't hesitate to ask me. Good luck!  Frank  |  talk  13:08, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi,

Thanks for getting in touch with your dispute. I understand that some people use wiki to spam their websites. These external links aren't against the guidelines. They are resourceful links which aid the understanding and calculation to the page's subject and would be beneficial to those that research these subjects.

These links are pointing to the site www.musiccalculator.com which is a non-profit educational website which bares no advertisment or cookies.

Thanks, PeterFlannery (talk) 15:54, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

UPDATE

RELIABLE SOURCES HAVE BEEN INCLUDED, PLEASE DO NOT DELETE PAGE

THESE ARE THE REFERENCES FROM reliable sources which satisfy claims of notability as per WP:N. The previous AfD

NEWS OUTLETS SOURCES : PRWEB[1]

NEWS.COM.AU [2]

They clearly stand for reliable sources and multiple items of media coverage to satisfy WP:N. Regarding PRWEB: News outlet that works with distribution partners such as Yahoo! News, Google News. Regarding NEWS.COM.AU: A widely known Australian news outlet.

DestroHolmes failure to see the changes may not be the most reliable point of view given to the fact that his edits and alleged clean up selectively erased the reliable sources. Please note that his edits worked more as surreptitious academic protectionism than acceptable encyclopedic criteria. What kind of concensus can we have if only DestroHolmes makes all the decisions?

Regarding recent edits by User:Absolutemetazero the present version does NOT have issues with WP:OR, WP:NPOV, nor citation problems and rather it was reverted (diffs here) because it had been consistently suppressed by DestroHolmes. Wikipedia is about collaboration and not arbitrary deletion by one person such as DestroHolmes who seems to be defending Benjamin Grundy's interests instead of respecting encyclopedic guidelines.

I want to publicly denounce DestroHolmes and his attempts to suppress this page and its complaints of online fraud despite the addition of reliable sources. Furthermore, I want to publicly question DestroHolmes's real identity as a a possible acquintance of Benjamin Grundy or as Benjamin Grundy himself.

The edit war with Tonkacres/Zhenboy/Destroholmes was deliberately started when Benjamin Grundy and Aaron were sent private messages on facebook notifying them about the changes on Wikipedia and in less than an hour (Australian time) the edit war had started.

DestroHolmes then proceeded to block the accounts and then acted as expected: started protecting Benjamin Grundy.

The page was then subsequently changed by DestroHolmesin a deliberate attempt to obfuscate the evidence of possible online fraud in the section "Breach of contract" DestroHolmes was clearly manipulated to show how biased his views were.

The main purpose of the edit war was to draw DestroHolmes into making arbitrary decisions and cast light into his surreptitious academic protectionism and abuse of Wikipedia's Policies and guidelines by blocking users and making personal decisions to delete a page he has a conflict of interest with. Unfortunately for DestroHolmes his editing history clearly show his protectionism towards a podcaster involved with online fraud. Should wikipedia rely on DestroHolmes as a supporter of online fraud?

Please feel free to compare his edits since now it is too late for him to change them or cover his tracks.

This page should not be deleted because it has consistent relevance to the Wikiproject Podcasting as well as present and future Podcasters interested in avoiding the same pitfalls Benjamin Grundy went through. Benjamin Grundy did not respect acceptable business practices and all his listeners were lost due to accusations of Online fraud and numerous complaints.

Lastly, allow me to ask a logical question: Which one has more value?

A)Mysterious Universe and its possible case of online fraud where victims stated the events. B)An inane internet meme such as "Raptor Jesus"

Both are facing deletion yet only one has relevance to Newmedia and Podcasting.

If an article such as "Raptor Jesus" finds space in Wikipedia where does wikipedia take its cues for credibility? Furthermore, does keeping "Raptor Jesus" as an article make Wikipedia different from Uncyclopedia's "Raptor Jesus" article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.172.0.195 (talk) 14:38, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Monk

Hi! Thanks for your help with this article. I had trouble making sense of your addition "During the Protestant Reformation, the teachings of Martin Luther led to the end of religious order, but a few Lutherans still followed monastic lives at his time" both in terms of scope and timeframe. I wanted to improve it but without any citations I had nothing to go on so I deleted it for now. Can you have another look at it and, while you're at it, add citations for your edits? many thanks -- Timberframe (talk) 14:59, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

translation impossible?

There is a discussion going on whether the name of that German church body can be translated or not (it appears like this on the english pages of this church's homepage). One user changed the name of this Church (actually a federation of several Lutheran, United and Reformed churches) and it's regional member churches to the German form because he says their names can't get translated. so the article on the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria now appears under its German name because he says the "concept" can't be translated into English. Please go to the discusson page of the Evangelical Church in Germany and have your say --93.130.249.56 (talk) 02:21, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

Ooohh, so is that why it is saying it is like an advertisement? Because I copied and pasted? I wrote it first in word then copied and pasted it into wikipedia. So do I need to redo the whole thing typing it directly into the site? Or is there something else I did that made it sound like an ad? Thanks again.

Your GA nomination of Conan (TV series)

The article Conan (TV series) you nominated as a good article has passed  ; see Talk:Conan (TV series) for eventual comments about the article. Well done! -- Hugahoody (talk) 23:26, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

I'm not sure what that's about; I can't find any record of Hugahoody having performed a GA review. I found the article at the top of the cue on 12 February and started a review myself. Please see Talk:Conan (TV series)/GA1.

The article is generally in good shape, but I have held off rating it as Good pending a few minor changes to prose and images, and some focusing of the content. I feel that the sections 'The Tonight Show conflict', 'Jimmy Vivino and the Basic Cable Band', 'Production' and 'International' are a bit longer and less focused than they could be.

I'll revisit the page on 19 February to complete the review. Happy editing, Cnilep (talk) 02:08, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

There are still a few issues that need to be addressed before the article achieves Good status. I will check back on 26 February. Cnilep (talk) 05:53, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Hello, Shark96z. There are still a few issues that need to be addressed before this article can meet the Good article critieria, in my opinion. Please feel free to renominate the article when these have been addressed. You can also seek reassessment if you disagree with my comments at Talk:Conan (TV series)/GA1. Hi, you did a lot of work on Template:Muscogee County, Georgia and Template:Columbus, Georgia neighborhoods. Replaceable fair use File:Lino rulli promo.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Lino rulli promo.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 19:37, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Mother angelica screenshot.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:01, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

Super Bowl XLVII ITN nom

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

A nom 18 hours before the game even starts just gives time for trolling. LightGreenApple talk to me 20:05, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

Your upload of File:Brookstone private school.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. Proposed deletion of The Shoppes at Bradley Park

The article The Shoppes at Bradley Park has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

NN lifestyle center.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Copyright violation

Hi. I know you are (apparently) no longer active on the site but should you return I thought you should know that I deleted one of your uploads as it was apparently a copyright violation, taken from another site without permission and with no attribution. We received notice via an OTRS ticket which was investigated and deemed credible. Rjd0060 (talk) 03:17, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
