Welcome edit

Dear Shachna1979, I read your user page and it's funny because I remembered feeling exactly that way when I first arrived here (though quite probably we come from completely different ends of this spectrum concerning which way we think the bias goes). With time, I've come to see that things are more complex here than they seem (there's a kind of chaotic order) and more "policing" probably isn't likely to solve much). I think what FayssalF said about not making things into a battle is really important here. A lot of people think this might be the place to come and let our their frustrations about what "the other side" is doing to them. I admit that that has sometimes been the case for me too. As the months and years have gone by though, more and more, I've come to see this site as it aims to be - a community of ordinary people trying to do a very extraordinary thing - i.e., write an encyclopedia together. No matter where we come from, what our experiences have been, what biases we carry with us, it's important to remember that primary point. Sure, even being conscious of these things does not always allow us to keep our baser instincts in check. Everyone makes mistakes and that's okay and sure to happen during one of the biggest experiments on earth to gather together the sum of human knowledge. If you think about it, i's really damn cool. So I hope you decide that you want to stay here - not to right great wrongs, but to write things, and share those things with other people so that we can all learn something from one another. Finally, I hope you don't find my posting of this message presumptious and if you do, I'm sorry, and you can just erase it without offending me all. But it's really funny how clearly the mirror of "the other" can reflect ourselves back to us sometimes. Anyway, welcome to Wikipedia. Tiamuttalk 22:09, 11 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Aish Kodesh (book) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Aish Kodesh (book) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://dixieyid.blogspot.com/2009/10/piaczena-rebbes-copy-of-zohar-on-e-bay.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. November 2023 edit

Hello, I'm Picard's Facepalm. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Eric Clapton, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Picard's Facepalm (talk) 19:29, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
