Thanks

Thanks for the maps

edit

I have been observing your Panchayat maps for some days. Now, I find you have put up a map of Hooghly district showing CD blocks and Municipal areas. It is fine and really useful. Many thanks for the effort. There are some minor mistakes in the maps. (i) The boundary line between Chanditala I and Chanditala II CD blocks is missing, {ii} there is a superfluous red line across the map, {iii) In the details that follow the map, there are some spelling mistakes - some blocks have become "blacks". I think, you will be able to rectify these mistakes. Once rectified, this map can be used on different CD block pages of Hooghly district. I am also interested in a similar map for Birbhum district and subsequently other districts. Will it be possible to make one? I am using a map there, see Khoyrasol (community development block), I would like to replace the map with one like what you have made. In case you need a base map, it is available in the District Census Handbook, Birbhum. You will get a map on the 5th page. Cheers. - Chandan Guha (talk) 08:39, 9 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the map on the Birbhum district page. I find that you are using your name on the map. I feel that your maps may get deleted because of that. Many photographs, with photographer's name, have been deleted earlier. Personal publicity is not allowed in Wikipedia. The map size is becoming too large - that needs to be reduced. Please increase the Type size a little or use bold types. Please try redoing the Hooghly map. The next district you can develop a map for is North 24 Parganas. It would be best if the map is 400 px. In Bangladesh, they are making rather small maps for similar use. See Porsha Upazila. Colour is not required, nor the Inset map. The map text is readable even when the size is small. Cheers. - Chandan Guha (talk) 12:50, 11 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Birbhum map

edit

I have placed your Birbhum map on all CD block pages of Birbhum district. You can see Nalhati I page and then get links to all other CD block pages in the Navbox at the bottom of the page. Now, it would be nice if you can make two small corrections: (i) Dubrajpur is spelt Debrajpur (ii) There is a small notch/line at the top right hand of the map.

I am sure you can create a map of North 24 Parganas district, similar to the Birbhum one. Please devote some time to it.

Hooghly map

edit

Thanks for redoing the Hooghly map. It looks nice. The rivers and the surrounding districts are fine. However, in a district map showing CD blocks, adding CD block after each name is unnecessary. For example, "Pandua CD block" can just be "Pandua". I have added the map to all CD block pages in Hooghly district. Cheers. - Chandan Guha (talk) 01:32, 15 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Dankuni map

I just saw your Dankuni map. What are trying to show? The map makes no sense, unless you explain what those numbers mean. Is it a quiz or a puzzle? Cheers. - Chandan Guha (talk) 17:12, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
