Hello SereneNecrosis! Your additions to Ethnicity have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 11:49, 5 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I will try again to include the content using direct quotations in the proper format, and paraphrase to avoid copyright violation.
However, I will note here that much of the content removed from my edits were cited perfectly and only included short exerpts from the source texts, most of which are in the public domain.
Furthermore, the content currently in the article paints a catagorically false depiction of common understandings of Ethnicity in comparison to Race. Racial classifications are wholesale rejected from the field of Anthropology, and seen broadly as Pseudo-Scientific nonsensical taxinomy.
The only relevance of "Race" in the context of Ethnicity is in recording the legal and social effects of the wrong understanding of human biology and historical origin, and the Ethnic Cleansing that unscientific notions "Race" was used to justify. It's not called "Racial Cleansing" because race is not scientifically real, aside from the negative impacts of the assumption that it is real, on very real Ethnicities. We don't teach Eugenics, as though it were fact, in schools, Racial Taxonomy had been debunked, it's effects are called "Ethnic Cleansing," not "Racial Cleansing."
But to read this Wikipedia article, one would believe that "Race" is still used scientifically to describe what (in actuality) is defined by Ethnicity and Nationality!
It is not appropriate for misinformation based in an insidious pro-racist agenda to be spread on a public resource website.
I also find it deeply inappropriate, and frankly shocking, that instead of helping cite the sources properly for a new editor, you would choose to delete all my edits wholesale, and then openly threaten me with permanently barring my access to edit, especially when the information that I am adding is essential to the understanding of the subject. I sincerely hope that you do not have some kind of personal agenda in regards to this page that extends beyond the bounds of protecting copyright. SereneNecrosis (talk) 22:16, 5 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Please read WP:AGF. As explained, we take copyright violations very seriously and it is standard practice to block someone if they ignore copyright. That's not aimed at you specifically, it's something we tell everyone who breaches copyright laws and it's meant to help them avoid being blocked. Doug Weller talk 12:42, 6 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Eugenicist Cliques, anti-DOS, anti-Mental-Health

edit

Wikipedia Claims to be an encyclopedia. Some might say, it's a club for Eugenicists that bullies people of color and the disabled for trying to improve pages directly relevant to their experiences in society. SereneNecrosis (talk) 02:23, 12 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Victim of a personal vendetta held by another editor[s].

Vendetta holder has, by their own admission, removed added content from an edited page, quote "without considering content, which [Vendetta Holder] did not look at one way or the other." unquote, without any consideration for the requests for content restructure or any attempts to review why the edits were made.

Vendetta Holder has characterized their own vandalism and harassment as a noble cause, repeatedly deleting important and well-cited disambiguation entries on the grounds of "lack of concensus" despite factual accuracy. Further, the Vendetta Holder themself rejects conclusions reached by concensus when those conclusions don't align with their personal Vendetta agenda, as proven by their vandalism of structural edits further illlunimated in this unblock request.

Vendetta Holder has characterized essential and long requested article edits made by this editor as "Disruptive", "Structurally Flawed", without justification for those claims, and despite the fact that the previous versions were themselves pointed out by others to be flawed in their organizational structure, having too many sections for the information contained within, and unreadable.

Additional accusations were made of removal of sections, which the Vendetta Holder further admits were factually false, quote "[Vendetta Holder] stand[s] corrected: you did not delete the See also section; in moving the References section, that concealed the existence of See also and Further reading."

Vendetta Holder has engaged in an edit war with this editor, then accused this editor of edit warring, despite multiple cited sources and continual commitment to disambiguation of information held by this editor.

Vendetta Holder has abused their authority of administrator to engage in an ideological witch hunt against this editor, going as far as harrassing this editor on this personal page, following this editor to other pages and vandalizing Wikipedia by deleting edits in the name of their personal Vendetta.

No information was removed from the Ethnicity page by this editor, the page's entries had been reorganized into sections and subsections to improve readability as requested by other editors over a year ago without any further attempts for a major update. Further, the Vendetta Holder has damaged and vandalized Wikipedia by deleting content added during this structural edit, a full (-3,938), which by their own admission, they did not review citations for, OR EVEN READ.

This editor challenges anyone to find any information that has been removed beyond a single irrelevant quote that was agreed to be removed from the page in the talk section by a concensus of editors actually invested in improving the page.

Update: upon review of the Vendetta Holder's user page edit history, this editor has reason to believe that this is not a first offense for the Vendetta Holder in terms of vindictive abuse of power. Multiple complaints from other users are listed, many with the same single complaint: the Vendetta Holder has deleted a well cited entry under the guise of structural policing. This clearly constitutes a pattern of abuse of administrative power.

Reply: Re: ("This request is kinda lengthy for a 31 hour block and oddly written in the third person. I certainly don't think there is a "vendetta" here; at least you do not cite specific diffs as evidence. In any event, once the block is expired you are free to seek a review of the block at WP:AARV. I don't see a reason here to remove the block early. 331dot ")

Here are the relevant diffs links, as requested, below this paragraph. To be clear, you are, unfortunately, incorrect about WP:AARV, which specifically states "Administrative action review should not be used:for urgent incidents and chronic, intractable behavioural problems; for serious, entrenched or persistent disputes; to make accusations of bias." I would be happy to continue disputing this incident in the appropriate channels. However, as you will see by these citations, the active block which is being enforced upon me is preventing me from defending myself from patently false accusations and further participating in the dialogue regarding edits to the Ethnicity page. The Vendetta Holder's SELF-ADMITTEDLY FALSE accusations have been taken in good faith by the other editors and I have no means by which to cite these diff logs in that conversation to clear my name.

Structural edits to the page in question: [1] Complaints against this administrator within the past year : [2] [3] [4] [5] Admissions of guilt cited in this formal complaint: [6] [7] Evidence that false accusations have been taken in good faith: [8]

In regards to my use of the third person for this report, Meriam Webster states: "In third-person objective narration, the narrator reports the events that take place without knowing the motivations or thoughts of any of the characters. We know little about what drives them until we hear them speak or observe their actions. The resulting tone is often matter-of-fact, not colored by any opinions or commentary, nor of knowledge of what takes place outside the scene." (https://www.merriam-webster.com/grammar/point-of-view-first-second-third-person-difference) This is indeed the tone I wish to inflect with this report, and it is the reason I chose this format.

Further Update: After the 31 hour block was lifted, I was further blocked indefinitely by other administrators who seem to take issue with the fact that I required a mental health break from this site. Further substantiating my claims of systemic problems with eugenicist cliques of administrators within this site. This is despite the fact that I have made no attempts to conduct any further edits since I was blocked. Let it be known that this is the environment that this organization fosters and cultivates.

Decline reason:

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Noting that I removed talk page access, as this unblock request did not come close to addressing the concerns and continued BATTLEGROUND concerns (Ingenuity beat me to declining the request.) Z1720 (talk) 01:36, 14 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
