Speedy deletion nomination of I SIG edit

A tag has been placed on I SIG, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. October 2010 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to I SIG. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.   Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed that you recently added a {{hangon}} template to an article, I SIG. In order for an administrator to evaluate whether the article should be speedy deleted or not, we request that you provide reasoning, on the article's talk page, for why it should remain. Thank you. Recommendations edit

Hi! I saw your post on WP:BLPN, and think you may have been confused about what that page was for. That is the place where we post requests for clarification on BLP (biographies of living people) issues. In fact, I think you were trying to create a page about an engineer. While you could, of course, do so, just like you created I SIG above, I can pretty much guarantee that an article about the engineer will be deleted for basically the same reasons. I recommend taking a look at WP:N and WP:BIO which are Wikipedia's general notability guideline and guideline for notability of living people, respectively. The reason I say this is that the article you are requesting be created doesn't appear to meet those criteria. For one, such an article would need multiple, reliable sources in independent publications, which I'm guessing you don't have. For another, your very description makes it sound that now is not a time for such an article. This is because you talk about how the invention will be useful in the future. However, Wikipedia only allows articles on subjects that have already been demonstrated to be notable; we do not speculate about what may be notable in the future. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me here or on my talk page. Please don't be discouraged--it can take time to get the hang of how Wikipedia works.
