Hey, SL! If you haven't yet, go to Preferences>Gadget>Navigation Popups and enable. It'll let you hover over a username to see how long that user has been editing and how many edits they've made. At Teahouse, you can do this when you see someone answering a question, and if you see they have 15000 edits and multiple years' experience, you know they probably are giving an answer based on a solid knowledge of policy. Until you have thousands of edits yourself, it's probably best to just read questions and answers at Teahouse instead of trying to answer them yourself. Once you find that the answer you would have given is usually the same that other, more experienced, editors have given, you can start answering questions yourself. Ping if you have any questions! —valereee (talk) 15:43, 15 December 2020 (UTC)

Hello, I have done what you have asked me to. Thank you for your advice, I understand what I said at the Teahouse was wrong, I'll make sure it won't happen again, and I'll follow what you have said. Cheers.SenatorLEVI (talk) 03:47, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
SL, it's okay to be wrong. :) Everyone is wrong sometimes, and as long as you're clearly trying to learn, no one will be at all upset when you make mistakes or don't know about some policy. It's really only when you're answering questions at Teahouse that you need to be especially sure you actually know the answers and never guess, because you could be giving a brand-new editor incorrect information. Teahouse is one of the few places on Wikipedia that we really want to make sure we know what we're talking about before we answer a question. —valereee (talk) 15:09, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
I understand, thank you for the kind and encouraging words!SenatorLEVI (talk) 15:17, 16 December 2020 (UTC)

Editing other peoples' userpages

Please don't do this, it's considered rude to edit others' userpages, typo or no, unless you are on particularly good terms with them. If you have a concern about the content someone's userpage, you may raise it on their talk page rather than in a passive-aggressive edit summary. GeneralNotability (talk) 20:27, 16 December 2020 (UTC)

I understand, however it wasn't passive aggressive since I didn't insult them personally or in any other way, I was just pointing out what was already there. I'll make sure this won't happen again.SenatorLEVI (talk) 02:51, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
