Question from Kingthebling (07:21, 6 December 2023)

How to create an new article --Kingthebling (talk) 07:21, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi Kingthebling and welcome to Wikipedia!
If you would like to create a page, I would use the Article Wizard to do so and submit the draft to Articles for Creation.
Some points to note about creating a new page.
For more info, see our help on creating your first article and general article creation info.
If you need anything else, please let me know! Regards, Seawolf35 T--C 19:56, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

RM: Royal standards of Canada

Hi Seawolf35! Just a quick one – when you closed the RM at Talk:Royal standards of Canada#Requested move 21 November 2023 you noted that 'consensus seems to be to keep the current title'. I had actually made a comment coming to the opposite conclusion:

If I can be bold, I think there's a consensus to move to something. The proposed title is supported by myself, @Moxy, and @Indefatigable. @GoodDay supports 'Royal flags of Canada' and @DrKay supports a move away from 'royal standards', but both oppose 'royal family of Canada'. The only outright opposition comes from @Fry1989, for unknown reasons, and from @Miesianiacal because of WP:CONSISTENT.

*GoodDay did change their mind after this.

I was wondering if you'd mind explaining your reasoning, because from my perspective the issue seems to be finding the right form of words for a new title rather than the current title having strong support. Cheers, A.D.Hope (talk) 09:41, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

@A.D.Hope Thanks for asking. Like I said the previous RM played a role in my close. If I am being honest, I probably should have closed it as no consensus and left a note saying to start another RM to find out the new proper title. The attempt at making a Alternative Title Proposals subsection achieved little of anything. I do agree that people want something to be moved, but I can not for the life of me see where people want it. I see a couple of proposed titles and a general idea of it, but no rock solid consensus for a specific title to move to. So, feel free to start a new RM if you would like as well. I wouldn't be closing that one since I am already involved in it since I just closed this one. Best, Seawolf35 T--C 14:49, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. We're on the same page – I could tell the move wouldn't be successful after the 'alternative names' subsection gained no traction. I'm not in a rush to reopen the discussion, but it's good to know you think there's a vague appetite for some sort of move. It's always the specifics that cause the trouble! All the best, A.D.Hope (talk) 15:39, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

Verbum caro factum est

Sorry, I reverted what you added to Verbum caro factum est, because I saw no connection to the article about a motet. Do you think there should be one about the phrase, besides John 1:14? -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:03, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

@Gerda Arendt I added to source ‘’the world became flesh’’ statement. In the beginning of the article that I cited it mentions the translation. I know that it is not directly related to the motet. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Best, Seawolf35 T--C 21:13, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
If you want it to stay out, I am fine with that. Seawolf35 T--C 21:15, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
I see, - will add the source that the KJV is. The article just started, - help welcome. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:18, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

Question from Random userje (01:25, 9 December 2023)

How do I create a new Wikipedia page --Random userje (talk) 01:25, 9 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi Random userje. To start, read the guidance at this page about writing your first article. You can submit a draft through the Article Wizard. Best, Seawolf35 T--C 01:38, 9 December 2023 (UTC)

Question from Richardfox79 (08:53, 14 December 2023)

Hello Seawolf35 I have completed 6 edits. When I try to Contribute, the button "Contribute" is not blue and doesn't lead to a new page, presumably where I might make a contribution. Can you demystify please? Richard --Richardfox79 (talk) 08:53, 14 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi Richardfox79, to edit a page, you click the "edit" button in the top right of a page. I think you are talking about the "contribute" on the left hand side of the screen, that is a header, not a button. There are some useful links under it though, like Learn to edit. If this doesn't clarify it let me know. Best, Seawolf35 T--C 16:49, 14 December 2023 (UTC)

BasiGo draft

Hello. Thankyou so much for reviewing the page Draft:BasiGo. I am aware of the massive backlog so this means a lot to me. I appreciate your feedback and I have made edits to try and make the entry sound in a more encyclopedic tone and thus resubmitted. I have also reviewed the sources used, however I honestly cannot find the fault with them. I have done a background check on each of them to ensure credibility and I did not see any unworthy criteria in them and hence did not see any changes to make to them. Could you kindly elaborate the specific error in them. Thankyou honestly for your time. Serrwinner (talk) 16:22, 14 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi Serrwinner, I recommend you read WP:PRSOURCE as a lot of the sources in that draft are routine press releases and PR bits for the company. For example, refs 2, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, and 20 just seem to be more or less routine press releases about the company. I am not saying you have to take them out but I am saying that they don't do much to establish the notability of the company. Most of the remaining sources seem to be fine on a cursory inspection. The main issue was the tone and puffery in the body of the draft. Some phrases that you removed, like "for their climate change mitigation efforts" are quite promotional in nature. Another reviewer will be along to review the draft sometime in the future, I don't usually review drafts more than once to be fair to everybody. If you have any more questions please let me know! Best, Seawolf35 T--C 16:42, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
Thankyou for your feedback. It is highly appreciated. Serrwinner (talk) 17:29, 14 December 2023 (UTC)

Question from Akash139 (10:08, 18 December 2023)

The primary reason for my creating a Wikipedia account is to make a Wikipedia biography page in the memory of my father Brigadier KN Thadani VSM (an officer of the Indian Army; Artillery). Aside from a few search results as listed below: 1. https://rejinces.net/2018/12/15/brigknthadani/ (Blog of one of his officers Col Reji) 2, https://rejinces.net/2018/12/24/brigthadanimountaineer/ (Blog of one of his officers Col Reji) 3. https://www.himalayanclub.org/hj/38/19/the-ascent-of-apsarasas-i-in-the-karakoram/ 4. https://publications.americanalpineclub.org/articles/12198129802/Asia-Pakistan-Apsarasas 5. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apsarasas_Kangri (Refers to the Himalayan Club article listed at Sl. 3) There is no reference to his war/operational service as he retired in 1985 and departed for his heavenly abode in 2002; years before the advent of the World Wide Web. He was in active war service and deployed against the enemy during both the Indo-Pak war of 1965 [as GSO-2 (Ops) with 1 Corps deployed in the Rann of Katch)] and the Indo-Pak war of 1971 [as Commanding Officer 75 Medium Regiment deployed in direct support of 16 (Indep) Armoured Brigade in the Samba-Zafarwal sector, and fought in the Battle of Basantar and saw action in Thakurdrawa, Chakra, Shakargarh and Jarpal. The regiment was subsequently awarded the battle honour “Basantar River” for their war effort]. However, I find no mention of my father’s regiment in the Wikipedia page on the Battle of Basantar. There are other military efforts of my father while he was in command of 3 Artillery Brigade in Ladakh, Dy GOC of UP Area and Commander 9 (Indep) Mountain Brigade Group, which I would like to archive for posterity for the benefit of young officers and other ranks serving in the regiment and other units and formations. In view of the above, my question is whether such a biography would qualify as a Wikipedia biography page. You may also refer this matter to the Wikipedia Editorial Board. --Akash139 (talk) 10:08, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi Akash139, only a specific set of people meet our guidelines for inclusion in a Article. Also please note that Wikipedia is not a memorial site. If you would like to write about your father, he would need to have significant coverage in multiple reliable sources. The guidance at this page about writing your first article can help and the article wizard can help as well. Now, from what I can see, your father is most likely not notable enough for inclusion on Wikipedia. Blogs are not generally considered reliable sources. If you need anything else, let me know. Best, Seawolf35 T--C 20:03, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
Hi Seawolf35, Thank you for your prompt reply. I am aware that Wikipedia is not a memorial site. Although, I am quite disappointed that my father does not qualify to have a page on Wikipedia, I find that the primary reason for creating this Wikipedia account is lost. In this vein, it would be reasonable for me to delete my Wikipedia account; however, I find that a direct deletion of account is not possible. Kindly let me know how best to close/delete my Wikipedia account to prevent its misuse by unscrupulous persons. Regards, Akash139 Akash139 (talk) 06:37, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
@Akash139 We cannot delete accounts, if you never need to use your account again, just scramble the password, don’t save it, and log out. However, I would encourage you to stick around and learn how to contribute to Wikipedia. To learn more you can look at the introduction to editing and the community portal. Best, Seawolf35 T--C 15:21, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
Hi Seawolf 35, Well, if you want me to stick around then I have a plan. I shall create 2 Wikipedia pages, one for my father Brigadier KN Thadani VSM (Indian Army Officer) and the second for my grandfather Dr NV Thadani (Educationalist & Philosopher). The best that can happen is that both pages are accepted; and the worst would be if both pages are rejected. After this effort, there may be some other related Wikipedia pages I may consider updating. After all this is done and dusted, I shall get around to editing pages of interest related to the military (history/strategy/tactics), geopolitics, economics, etc. I shall keep you informed as these two pages progress. Question from OldBoldLibrarian (14:49, 20 December 2023)

Hello. I'm trying to upload an unpublished image that the creator has directly given to me with no rights reserved. The release rights questionnaire in the Upload Wizard has no option for my situation, as far as I can see. I have checked the forums and FAQs to no avail. Thanks! OBL --OldBoldLibrarian (talk) 14:49, 20 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi OldBoldLibrarian, from what I understand, the creator gave you the image but they still hold the copyright permission. Please have them send an email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org with an explicit release of rights for the file. After, and only after they do that, you can upload the file to commons using the upload wizard over there. The response time will not be instant, it will take around 3 days or so. If this is unclear, please let me know. Best, Seawolf35 T--C 15:03, 20 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi. Just wanted to let you know I declined your G5 request at Battle of Mount Handrin. Violations of Contentious Topic restrictions aren't currently included in G5, and the subject of adding them to that criteria is the topic of an on-going request for comment. I know the template exists (and maybe the category page too?), but they should not be used until the RFC concludes and they are officially added to the CSD criteria. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 19:17, 21 December 2023 (UTC)

Felene vodka review

Thank you for reviewing the Felene vodka Article page. I would very much welcome some guidance here as I do not understand the full extent of the requested action. I created the page after four years of innovation and awards granted for quality and innovation. That said, I am without a doubt a newbie and have tried to consume as many of the articles on proper etiquette and objectivity as I could find. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year. Draft I wrote

I wrote This short draft earlier. I see you are a page checker person so maybe you want to look at it? Njsky (talk) 09:23, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

@Njsky On a cursory inspection it looks like you need more significant coverage in your sources in the draft. Your sources just seem to be routine press releases. We need sources that go in depth about the subject of the article. Seawolf35 T--C 09:26, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
Two of the sources themselves stress on the apparent importance of this company in the UK, so I figured it sounded notable enough. I'll work on it more. Njsky (talk) 09:30, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

Tani Yuuki review

Hi Seawolf35. Just have a few questions about my draft. I went through the general notability guideline and the musician criteria and found it satisfied 1-5, 10 and 12. My quoted references (Billboard Japan) are also published, reliable, secondary and independent of the artist. Can you please help me with more detailed explanations specific to my scenario? Johnleeyx (talk) 15:47, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Johnleeyx, when editing about living people you need to take extra care and source almost everything. The "Early Life and Education" and lead need to have inline citations next to them to verify them. Hence my decline reason about inline citations. Now, I can't read Japanese so I can't draw good conclusions about them. Seawolf35 T--C 20:02, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
Understood. I have added more references. However, there simply isn't many articles in English as this artist is still relatively new. Is there any solution or workaround that will allow us to progress (maybe reassessing them after using the translate tool on those references or perhaps a referral to a reviewer that can read Japanese?) Johnleeyx (talk) 04:37, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
@Johnleeyx I will AGF on the Japanese sources and accept the draft due to te fact that notability seems to be demonstrated now. I will be removing the youtube reference since youtube is not a reliable source. Best, Seawolf35 T--C 04:55, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
I've moved this back to draft. I disagree that notability has been established per WP:MUSICBIO. Further, it has some promotional language that needs fixing. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:50, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

Page Creation

Hello Boss, Can You Please Help me to Create Page Name "Sandeep Maurya" Please 58.146.122.144 (talk) 05:43, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi,
All articles about living people must pass the strict Wikipedia:Notability (people) threshold: @NAME is unfortunately not notable by Wikipedia standards so cannot have an article at this time and I have rejected the draft as such. We also highly discourage you from writing an article about yourself due to the clear conflict of interest.

Kindly ask suggestions and answers

Hello, hope 2024 is going well for you.

I notice you have placed a speedy deletion mark on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr_Peter_Chee.

I believe the criteria on notoriety and notability has been met e.g. a global coaching guru who has collaborated with some of the world's top coaching experts including Marshall and Jack.

Also, the disclosures have been made on my user's talk page.

Your inputs on how to strengthen the page to avoid further penalties would be much appreciated. Best wishes.

Hi Seawolf35, thank you for your action and comments on this page. Not intended to bother you but really want to get your advice on my next step.

1. Regarding the notability issue, I'm confused since multiple books, journals and even a congress bill are used as source to help establish notability, could you kindly inform me what was wrong there?

2. As for the promotional content, I went through the tutorials and rules and basically know how to re-write it. Although I'm still confused:

a). "BSN-DDC Network surpassed Ethereum’s transaction volume" along with the data - does it help with notability or is it considered as an advertisement?

b). How would you place words on the last sector "Bifurcated Operation"? My understanding is that the last paragraph should be deleted.

c). Are there any specific places that are puffery? (I'm not making trouble, just want to get an idea from a professional reviewer.

Your feedback would be very much valued (honestly they will!)

Happy new year! Bensaujana (talk) 05:05, 10 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Bensaujana and sorry for the late reply. To start, I have overturned my rejection to a decline for one last chance.
1. The notability issue seems satisfied now, so you are good on that front.
2. The main issue is the tone of the draft, phrases like "BSN's Chinese origins have elicited apprehension...", "The network is developed to support the adoption of blockchain for mainstream enterprises without exposure to the volatility and regulatory uncertainty of the cryptocurrency market", and "These concerns are reminiscent of challenges faced by companies such as TikTok vs DouYin." have some issues with them. They are written with what some people will call weasel words. It is best to avoid such terms. For example, I would change "reminiscent" to "similar to", those phrases are not all of the problematic phrases in the draft but I hope those examples will help you find and correct the rest.
2a. Since it is supported by a source, it is fine if it stays.
2b. I would delete the last paragraph under the section "Bifurcated Operations." I don't see how it holds much relevance to the article/it is not needed.
2c. See my main answer to number 2 above with the examples. Here are some phrases I would outright remove to reduce the promotional content.
Phrase 1. "and thus simplifying the adoption of blockchain technology for their users." Just end the sentence at "distributed networks."
Phrase 2. "Enterprise BSN's environment can manage cross-cloud, cross-framework, and cross-application virtual machines and resources directly on top of OpenStack. The platform integrates permissioned frameworks like Hyperledger Fabric and FISCO BCOS and public blockchains such as Ethereum and EOS as operating systems." This is really not needed for the page and sounds quite promotional.
When you have fixed the issues, click on the button that says "Resubmit" and when I have time I will look at it again or another reviewer will get to it. Also, thank you for being a paid editor who works with us, that works in your favor.
If you have any other questions or you need some more advice, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Kind Regards, Seawolf35 T--C 05:02, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
Sincerely appreciate your patient answers and advice@Seawolf35! I’m working on the re-write and studying the words-to-watch guidelines. If you don’t mind, could you please give some advice on my questions below?
1. For the congress bill mentioned in the last paragraph, would it be better to refer to the congressman’s official site or an independent news website that reports this news, such as SCMP, as a secondary source?
2. I’m not sure if the word “allow” sounds promotional in this sentence: “The BSN establishes a foundational distributed cloud environment that uses blockchain as an operating system and allows enterprises to use an established framework rather than installing a full set of cloud service network.“
3. In the following sentence, should I name the adopters to make the knowledge more complete? - “In September 2022, the BSN Spartan Network, the equivalent of BSN-DDC outside Mainland China, was launched in Hong Kong with initial adopters including [HSBC](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HSBC), Prenetics, and [FUJIFILM](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FUJIFILM) Business Innovation Hong Kong.9(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Blockchain-based_Service_Network#cite_note-9)”
Thanks again for your kindness and help, have a great day! Bensaujana (talk) 13:10, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
Hi Bensaujana, thanks for asking!

1. It is better to refer to a secondary and reliable source, you should avoid primary references when possible, but they can be used sometimes.

2. The word “allow” is fine, but I would remove the word “foundational” as that is more of a peacock term. I would make the sentence read, “ The BSN creates a distributed cloud environment that uses blockchain as an operating system and allows enterprises to use an established framework rather than installing a full set of cloud service network.” Although, just to be safe and this is by no means a requirement, I might suggest removing or trimming that sentence in some way or from to help reduce the promotional tone.

3. If you would like to link to the adopters in that sentence, please do. Make sure you use wikilinks and not external links.

Thanks for asking, if you have any more questions please let me know!

Hi @Seawolf35, thanks a lot for your reply. You really helped a lot!I organized the sources and deleted unnecessary content to avoid the potential of promotion. I think this version is clearer now. I also learned a lot myself :)

Missing message on my talk page

Hello! I've got a note, that you left a message on my talk page, but it's nowhere to been seen. I suspect it to be about you having moved "The Arrows of Time" to draftspace again due to "missing sources". I really need clarification for that as that has already happened and I spend many hours adding a lot of references afterwards. There are now 34 in total. Why is that not enough? Thank you for your help! Samuel Adrian Antz (talk) 09:58, 11 January 2024 (UTC)

@Seawolf35 Ah, I've now discovered, that you indeed left a message, but deleted it again. (But why?) There it reads, other reasons include the draft looking like an essay and probably containing original research. I've already explained two other users, that it doesn't. I've added two references (one to a scientific source and one to the author's website) by now for multiple claims to show, that connections inbetween were not made up by me. I also consider explanations for the scientific background a key part of the article as it is in the entire trilogy and hence probably the main reason somebody would want to read the article. Also as going through the ~80,000 words (length of a short novel) the author wrote about it on his website might be too time-consuming. Samuel Adrian Antz (talk) 10:14, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
@Samuel Adrian Antz I have seen the conversation that you are having on your talk page with other reviewers. They are saying what I would say to you. As for the deleted message, I was trying to fix a mistake of mine and in that process I turned it into a lot of other mistakes. The message on your page was collateral of said mistakes, sorry about that. Seawolf35 T--C 00:58, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
@Seawolf35 Thank you for reading all of it, but be assured I would not have asked for your help, if I thought they'd say what you would. The conversation was before I made some important changes on the draft (for example I deleted a whole section completely as it concerns explanations exclusively given inside the novel and its afterword and not the author's website, hence no reference for them is possible and I do understand it looks like original research). You moved the article afterwards when only well-sourced claims remained, hence might have a totally different reason to do so.
A single example from the draft might already be enough to give me some much needed context. I'd really appreciate it and hope I can thank you in advance for it! (Why the trout? Do you consider just asking for help to be "something silly"?) Samuel Adrian Antz (talk) 11:17, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
@Samuel Adrian Antz The trout is not for you it is for me after I found out the collateral from the mistakes that I made included resotring vandalism by accident. As for an example as to why it might contain original research, the entire plot section is unsourced. If it is not backed by sources, how can we verify what is said in it. The plot section is also too long, around 600 words are recommended for plot sections, you have 962 words in it. Also, please see this answer from a user regarding what I would say about WP:DUE and WP:SYNTH in the article. Seawolf35 T--C 14:33, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
I'm very sorry for misunderstanding the trout. I didn't think, that the 600 word limit is that much of a problem as many articles exceed it and I already shortened the plot a lot. But I have already shortened it further by now, even though some details get lost. (874 words, hence now on par with the other two books in the trilogy with 869 words and 832 words respectively. I will also try to shorten them now.) I might also shift one or two concepts from the "Background (mathematics and physics)" section into the "See also" section to further deal with the assumption of original research. I've not yet seen the answer you linked, but will definitely look at all the links in there. (And I also want to add: I really don't consider deleting sections already written to have been a waste of time. Deleting can be as much of a progress as adding.) Thank you very much for your help! Best regards, Samuel Adrian Antz (talk) 16:40, 12 January 2024 (UTC)

Question from Zlopezbird on Walter E. Washington Convention Center (20:35, 13 January 2024)

How do I add a link to a name ??? --Zlopezbird (talk) 20:35, 13 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Zlopezbird, if I wanted to add a link to a page here is what I would do. Say I wanted to link to the page Green. I would find the word that I wanted to link in a page, and add brackets around the word like this [[Green]]. That will produce a link. If this is unclear please let me know. Request for unblocking my Wikimedia Commons login

Hello Seawolf35,

Today, I tried to upload an image related to the Wiki: Battle of Basantar; but find that my Wikimedia Commons account is blocked.

The following message on the block may assist in resolving this issue:

If the block reason seems unrelated to you, it is possible you were affected by a software feature known as the autoblock. In that case contact info-commons wikimedia.org to remove the autoblock.

Your current IP address (Redacted) and the block ID is #470409.

Please include this information in your query. Please note that, for technical reasons, removing the autoblock is not always possible. In such cases, you may need to wait 24 hours for the autoblock to expire. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akash139 (talkcontribs) 09:11, 17 January 2024 (UTC)

Request that my login to Wikimedia Commons be unblocked.

Have you tried to login, it looks like the block only affects unregistered users on commons. If it says you have been autoblocked, contact the listed email address for assistance. Seawolf35 T--C 13:24, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
@Akash139 ping. Seawolf35 T--C 13:24, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
Thank you. The Administrator of Wikimedia Commons unblocked my login. I am now able to login on their portal as well as directly through Wikipedia. Have a great day. Regards, Akash139 (talk) 10:32, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for your guidance. I have sent an unblock request to "info-commons@wikimedia.org". This maybe an autoblock so they should be able to unblock my login to Wikimedia Commons. Is there anything else I am required to do? Akash139 (talk) 18:32, 17 January 2024 (UTC)

CFD closures

Hello, Seawolf35,

I was just tagging Category:Patent holders as an empty category and noticed that you had removed a CFD tag on it from a discussion you closed. Closing deletion discussions involves more than just removing CFD tags from pages. In this case, you need to make sure that the category content was merged and that this category was tagged for deletion as of the CFD decision not for speedy deletion reasons. This means fashioning a very particular CSD G6 deletion tag that is linked to the CFD discussion.

If you want to take responsibility for closing CFD discussions (which are admittedly tricky to do), you have to do more follow through. The best people to talk to about this with are Marco or Mason who have handled a lot of CFD closure aftermaths in the recent past. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 22:45, 17 January 2024 (UTC)

Page Creation guidance

Hello Seawold35,

Could you please share some advice and guidance on why the Draft Oyster 495 page has been rejected. I am new to creating pages but have taken the time to read many articles on how to create an article and what to include and not to include.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks James.markwell (talk) 10:27, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

@James.markwell You need multiple secondary, independent, and reliable sources to demonstrate the company is notable. It needs to pass WP:GNG or WP:NPRODUCT. Your sources now are just routine press releases or what the company says about itself. The draft is also full of promotional language, phrases like Equipped with modern sailing technology and systems, the Oyster 495 rig options, keel configurations, and sail handling systems are designed to cater to a range of sailing preferences and conditions, Hand built in a new facility in Hythe, Hampshire near Southampton, the Oyster 495 has cabins, a galley, and saloon, providing large living space for extended cruising, and a sailing yacht that is hand built for blue-water passage-making with features found on the bigger boats in the Oyster fleet, and (approximately 0.60m (24”) extra for optional lights and aerials) are just very promotional and should be removed. Also, do you have any professional relationships with Humphrey's Yacht Design? Thanks, Seawolf35 T--C 15:38, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

Question from Rochelleworld (15:20, 19 January 2024)

Hi, that's cool that you offer mentorship! I'm translating a page from a different language; do you know how long it takes for that new English page to get approved? --Rochelleworld (talk) 15:20, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

@Rochelleworld Hi! If you are submitting the draft through WP:AFC then it will take around 4 weeks with the current backlog. It could be reviewed almost instantly or it could take a month or more. Reviewers are volunteers and they decide what drafts to review and when. Thanks for asking! v/r - Seawolf35 T--C 15:23, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

Category:Search and rescue

I found Category:Search and rescue with an {{old CFD}} tag on the talk page but a CFD template, and wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2024_January_1#Category:Search_and_rescue seemed validly closed, so I removed the template from the category page. Then I checked the history and saw that, after removing it with XFDCloser, you had previously reinstated it yourself, saying "my mistake" – but I could not see a mistake. – Fayenatic London 21:36, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

@Fayenatic london I was trying to use massRollback to clean up a nasty edit conflict with twinkle and I hit rollback all instead of rollback selected with the 500 contribs page open. There was… a lot of collateral. v/r - Seawolf35 T--C 22:24, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
Aha! Thanks for explaining. I had a quick look and can't see any more like that. – Fayenatic London 10:30, 20 January 2024 (UTC)

CFDs and tagging categories

Hello, Seawolf35,

Please do not remove CFD tags from categories that are due to be merged and deleted. Right now, these categories are being emptied and deleted as CSD C1 speedy deletion as empty categories. When, actually, they are being deleted due to CFD decisions. So, there should be a deletion notice with a link to the CFD discussion where the decision was made. This is in case the category is recreated, if it is deleted CSD C1, it can be restored at any time. But because of the CFD decision, these categories should not be recreated and the only way an editor would know that is because the CFD discussion is linked to the category's deletion. If you're not sure about how to do this, please talk to Marco or Mason or another editor who regularly handles categories in the aftermath of CFD closures. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 05:01, 20 January 2024 (UTC)

Alright, I just let XFD closer do its thing but I guess that will need to be changed. v/r - Seawolf35 T--C 15:54, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
