Paul singh moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Paul singh, is not suitable as written to remain published. An article needs more information and citations from reliable, independent sources to remain in the mainspace. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline, has suitable content and thus is ready for mainspace, click the Submit the draft for review! button atop the article. Thank you Silikonz, I do think Paul Singh is worthy of an entry on Wikipedia, he is arguably the inventor of the commercial dashcam. The problem is that his name is common, there are other Paul Singhs. Also some of the sources are from trade press in the commercial vehicle sector, they are all from verifiable independent sources but it appears that Wiki does not recognise some of them. How do I get round this? Sean Matthew Obrien (talk) 08:35, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks KylieTastic, hopefully I can improve the page to meet the Notability Guidelines. I've just added quite a few more mainstream news references to Mr Singh's work in road safety, hopefully that will go some way to getting this page approved. Proposed deletion of Paul A. Singh

edit

The article Paul A. Singh has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Simply not enough in-depth coverage about him to meet WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. To add a more personal note to this automated message, I really do hope you participate and are able to identify sources that constitute WP:SIGCOV. Suriname0 (talk) 01:50, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi Suriname0, I've not heard from you on this matter for a short while and so wanted to reiterate my position regarding GNG and how I believe Paul A Singh meets them. There are a significant number of independent sources on his work in road safety technology over the past 20 years, and I've also sent you some more print coverage as well which couldn't be included because there was no corresponding digital version of them. As regards his worthiness for inclusion in principle, I think this stands because he is arguably one of the first creators of the commercial dashcam (I've not said he was the first because that cannot be proven) but there is little doubt that the road-safety systems he has created have saved lives on the roads of the UK and USA. His HGV safety systems are recognised by TfL and also Construction Logistics and Community Safety Scheme CLOCS, and Fleet Operator Recognition System FORS. He has won several safety awards including the WhatVan award for Risk Management for his pioneering introduction of AI technology to driver risk management analysis, this new AI technology also won the Brake Award for Analysis and Action
All of these points could be added to the wiki entry to add more material and sources. I look forward to hearing from you. Sean Matthew Obrien (talk) 11:34, 14 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hey User:Sean Matthew Obrien, just a heads up that unless you explicitly type [[User:Suriname0]] in your reply I won't receive a notification. Feel free to move this comment over to the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Paul A. Singh page so that others can see and respond to it as well. My basic response to this is the same that I shared before: a fundamental pillar of Wikipedia is verifiability. We need reliable sources that directly asserts the impact that Paul Singh (not SmartAnalytics, or some product created by Singh) has had. None of the sources you linked in the above comment directly mention Singh. To avoid original research, we need significant coverage that directly supports the material. The best thing you can do to verify that Singh meets WP:GNG and WP:BIO is to identify sources that discuss Singh and his work in depth. Examples of good coverage for entrepreneurs, inventors, and researchers are discussions of that work in books published by academics or extended profiles in The Times or the scientific/business press.
