August 2023 edit

Hello, I'm Bruce1ee. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Business idea have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. —Bruce1eetalk 09:17, 2 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Bruce1ee, based on your observations, I had to go through the External links, Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Inline citation pages. However, I would like to point out that I only added a citation to Business idea and Employment not an external link as state. Please see reference from External link under point 1 of important points to remember and point 4 of links to be considered.
Even though I have only made about 7 edits in total, my goal of providing those citations was not for advertising or promotions as the citations and other edits I have made is to further enhance the overall idea being communicated through the pages.
I just wanted to provide that clarification, but I would certainly defer to your judgement considering you have an extensive background as a contributor and whatever your decision is I am totally fine with it. Scorpiomate (talk) 10:17, 2 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Employment. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. —Bruce1eetalk 09:19, 2 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

My previous reply suffices for both because they are in the same category. Scorpiomate (talk) 10:34, 2 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
The link you added to business idea shows readers how to generate business ideas, and the link you added to employment helps readers choose a recruitment agency. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a guide. See WP:NOTGUIDE. —Bruce1eetalk 11:23, 2 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I might be mistaken though, but I think the Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not#LINK and Wikipedia:NOTGUIDE and other Wikipedia is not is in direct reference to creating Wikipedia articles.
In this case, I did not create a Wikipedia article nor did I add a guide to directly to the article on Business idea and Employment. In my opinion if Wikipedia articles cannot be guides, providing reference to a guide that the content is proper in the context of the article (useful, tasteful, informative, factual, etc.) in reference to Wikipedia:External links under point 3 in What to link should suffice right?
