Najas flexilis and others

Greetings! I've been monitoring the new plant pages that have been added and I've seen your user name quite frequently. Thanks for contributing so much! Just a small thing or two that I've noticed:

• Per WP:HEAD, make sure you don't capitalize the subsequent non-proper nouns in the headers. So instead of "Distribution and Habitat" it should always be "Distribution and habitat".
• And would you consider rating the articles you create and tagging the talk pages with {{WikiProject Plants}}? It's really easy to do. Check out the Plants assessment guide and add {{WikiProject Plants|class=Stub|importance=Low}} to the talk page. Rate it accordingly. If you think its importance is higher, rate the article as "importance=Mid" or higher. You can also change the class to something else if you expand the articles past the point of a stub. If the article doesn't have an image, add "needs-photo=yes" to the template.

Plant and Garden wiki

Hi Sci girl, I'm writing to you because you've edited many of the plant articles. I wanted to let you know about a plants-specific wiki site which you might be interested in contributing to. The site focuses specifically on how to grow any plant. Since Wikipedia is not a how-to, and articles are not allowed to be written as a guide on how to grow plants, two years ago I started http://www.plants.am - a wiki solely to address that topic (much like how wikitravel.org is solely to advise tourists visiting a country or city on their destination).

An example of how the sites differ can be seen immediately by comparing the Wikipedia article on Tamarind, with the Plants.am Tamarind article. Many of the articles currently on the site are placeholder articles taken from Wikipedia which are being rewritten from scratch, or shells of articles using new templates. However, a core of new articles like the Asparagus article (which still has a lot of room to grow) are being created, and the undertaking is huge. Perhaps you have some materials you can add which are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Hi! I'm serving as the wikipedian-in-residence at the Smithsonian Institution Archives until June! One of my goals as resident, is to work with Wikipedians and staff to improve content on Wikipedia about people who have collections held in the Archives - most of these are scientists who held roles within the Smithsonian and/or federal government.
