Wikipedia and copyright

Hello Schoolsearcher06, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Martin Luther King High School (Detroit) have been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. Ok, I've removed another one from Pershing High School. Copyright is a very serious issue and what you have done on these two pages is not only a policy violation, but is illegal. If there are any more photos that are not your property that you have uploaded claiming they were, I'd suggest you get over to Commons and nominate them for deletion yourself as copyright violations. Also remove them from any articles you've added them to. I'll give you the chance to make this right yourself. And I've deleted one from Mumford High School that is clearly copyrighted on https://www.glengery.com/photo-gallery/brick-gallery/item/164982662-mumford-high-school. If you actually own the copyright on these pictured you will have to prove to Wikipedia that you own the copyright, and formally grant us permission to use them. Otherwise Wikipedia cannot host them. Thanks for reaching out, SS06. I'll leave you instructions on how to add references below. Keep in mind statistics should have independent sources, that's to say not the school or the district. Generally, we try to source enrollment data to NCES, although Michigan DOE would also be acceptable. Currency is less important than independence. If you need help, ASK!!!!!!! I'm an old grump, but I'm happy to help you with sourcing issues or technical issues anytime. Might take me a bit to answer, cause I've got two businesses I run and am a single parent, but I will answer. Please, though, leave messages on my talk page. I'm a very active editor on schools, and some kids take great offense at being told they cannot do something. I've been the subject of harrasment more than once, sometimes really nasty stuff. From time to time, administrators have protected my talk page to prevent unregistered and non autoconfirmed editors from posting there. You are autoconfirmed, so that doesn't affect you. You have a welcome template and an invite to the Teahouse at the top of this page. You're blocked from editing for a week. Please take some time to read the links in the welcome template. Adding references can be easy

Just follow the steps 1, 2 and 3 as shown and fill in the details

Hello! Here's how to add references from reliable sources for the content you add to Wikipedia. This helps maintain the Wikipedia policy of verifiability.

Adding well formatted references is actually quite easy:

1. While editing any article or a wikipage, on the top of the edit window you will see a toolbar which says "Cite". Click on it.
2. Then click on "Templates".
3. Choose the most appropriate template and fill in as many details as you can. This will add a well formatted reference that is helpful in case the web URL (or "website link") becomes inactive in the future.
4. Click on Preview when you're done filling out the 'Cite (web/news/book/journal)' to make sure that the reference is correct.
5. Click on Insert to insert the reference into your editing window content.
6. Click on Show preview to Preview all your editing changes.

• Before clicking on Publish changes, check that a References header   ==References==   is near the end of the article.
• And check that   {{Reflist}}    is directly underneath that header.

7.  Click on Publish changes. ...and you've just added a complete reference to a Wikipedia article.
