Dear Schlechterwolf,

I have undone your edit of the DYRMS page. Please leave the DYRMS page as I have set it out.

I am a former pupil of the school, am working with the knowledge and approval of the school's management team, and am involved in another military school history venture (www.achart.ca) that is run by another former pupil of the school. Furthermore, two Old Boys' Association sites are linked to the Wiki page for the DYRMS.

All in all, we Dukies would very much appreciate the Wiki page left as I have set it out. The page is viewed by large numbers of Old Dukies and none have any complaints with my efforts. I understand you have an interest in making sure things are correct, so I assure you this the case.

With regards,

Benjamin N Childs

Dear Benjamin N Childs,

Firstly my apologies for the tardiness in getting back to you, I have had a rather busy summer. I am also sorry that you feel this way. Perhaps you have failed to grasp that Wikipedia is a public site and articles are open to being edited by the public. It is neither an advertising opportunity nor a communications method for groups to keep together. It is most certainly not an alternative to having a website of your own.

The DYRMS page is not written in any manner from a neutral point of view - which is an essential for Wiki pages. Therefore - and the satisfaction of former pupils of your alma mater not withstanding - I am afraid that your assurances as to the "correctness" of things are misplaced.

I do understand the deep emotions which memory of a happy school engender - which is why I specifically choose not to involve myself with my own school's Wiki page. I do not think that I could be unbiased. Perhaps you should consider this.

The DYRMS is in my opinion a very fine place and as a former serviceman I have met many of its old boys over the years - some good, some bad and many just ordinary people doing astonishing things. That is why I would like to see a more appropriate tone to this Wiki.

Best regards,

Paul Cattigan

Disambiguation link notification for July 27 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of adjectival and demonymic forms for countries and nations, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page English (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
