SouthPark Mall (Charlotte, North Carolina) edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you.

You removed a fact that SouthPark Mall was the largest shopping mall in the Charlotte region despite it being properly cited by the Charlotte Business Journal. You also reintroduced the unsubstantiated statement that it is the largest shopping mall in either of the Carolinas. Please do not remove properly cited facts without discussion and do not reintroduce the 'largest in the Carolinas' statement without a proper citation. --Fife Club (talk) 00:22, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

You changed the facts again from 'largest in Charlotte' to 'largest in the Carolinas'. I'm glad to see you added a source citation but...
I just reverted recent edits for two reasons. First, by not properly closing your reference tag, half the article completely disappeared and ended up in the reference section. I'm sure this was just a simple mistake but please check your edits either in preview mode or double check that everything is working correctly before you leave a page you just edited.
More importantly, the source you cited for 'largest mall in the Carolinas' was this website, but if you read that page again you'll see that it never states any facts that support that claim. What it says is that "Charlotte boasts the distinction of being the largest retail center in the Carolinas". Nothing is written about the size of SouthPark Mall.
P.S. I started a discussion about this on the article's talk page in case others can help too.

1) You've already been warned about checking your edits. You keep deleting half of the article and leaving. Please read Help:Footnotes to learn how to stop ruining the article (by accident I assume) and use preview to check for damage first.
2) This should be obvious but you can't cite a source that uses Wikipedia as its source. That would be the article citing itself as a reference. This was explained in the article's talk page.
This will be the last good faith revert.--Fife Club (talk) 01:30, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

reasoning behind the list edit

This is concerning this edit. Your edit summary says "still needs exclusive list".

How are these stores exclusive? I mean, other malls have them, and I'm confused what makes that list appropriate for wikipedia and anything more than a listing of stores. tedder (talk) 23:56, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

They are exclusive because they are exclusive to Greenville. It does not need a whole directory of stores, but people who looked at it could have an idea about what the "best" stores at the mall are. Sbuxlover4 (talk) 02:47, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Meaning they are the only place you can find said stores in Greenville? Again, see WP:NOTYELLOW; it might be okay if a small few were listed in prose, though in another region there was pushback against naming any individual stores. tedder (talk) 03:23, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes, Haywood Mall is the only place that you can find those stores in Greenville. They are the stores that most people would come from somewhere else for. I guess what I mean is that they are the only location in the area (surrounding counties, in that particular part of state, etc.). Sbuxlover4 (talk) 18:18, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
