Unexplained removal of content

edit

Hi, you've twice removed plot content here and here at Drishyam (2015 film), but neither time did you provide an explanation. Since your changes have been reverted, you need to open a discussion on the article's talk page to seek consensus, as any other changes like this will be considered disruptive. Thanks.   Please stop your disruptive editing, as you did at Drishyam (2015 film). Your edits have been reverted or removed. Do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively may result in your being blocked from editing. MOS:FILM

edit

If you plan to edit film articles at Wikipedia, you need to familiarize yourself with the Manual of Style for Film along with our policy on reliable sources. We don't include IMDB user ratings, because any crank with an internet connection can buy a bunch of sockpuppets and UPVOTE a film they like and DOWNVOTE a film they don't like. User reviews are not considered noteworthy unless they come from a scientific process like that provided by CinemaScore. Also, IMDB in general is not a reliable source because it is contributed by users. This is the same reason why we don't use Wikipedia as a reference, because it too is contributed by users. See also WP:RS/IMDB and WP:TVFAQ and WP:RS. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:17, 10 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Resubmission of problematic content

edit

Hi there. I can't help but notice that content you added to the article, which I have removed for being promotional and inconsistent with other film articles, keeps getting added back by IPs, for example here and here. I can only assume this is you editing while logged out. This isn't going to help you escape scrutiny. You need to use the article's talk page to seek consensus for the inclusion of this content. The review rating table is redundant and only serves to promote the film. Your critical response summary is not helpful since it's not our job to summarize cherrypicked reviews. As previously mentioned IMDb user ratings are of no encyclopedic value to the project. Please note that editors can be blocked on behavioral evidence, so if it looks to an admin that you are logging out to further your POV, you can wind up blocked just the same as any IP editor can.   This is your only warning; if you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising again, as you did at Drishyam (2015 film), you will be blocked from editing without further notice. Diffs: [2] Your refusal to discuss, your cagey removal of balanced reviews and your repeated submission of inappropriate promotional summaries are inappropriate. If you attempt again to promote this film and suppress balanced content, you will be blocked. Read WP:NPOV Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:58, 12 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Note also that I consider the addition of "Blockbuster/Hit/Super-Hit" nonsense to be blatantly promotional. These are subjective evaluations that have no encyclopedic value. They're fine for people selling tickets and newspapers but do not belong at Wikipedia. See WP:UNDUE Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:36, 13 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

October 2015

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for persistent vandalism. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:36, 9 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
This block is for these changes which are not supported by the sources added. The addition of this garbage reference does not help, and only suggests that you cannot discern between quality references per WP:RS and insufficient ones. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:38, 9 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
