Rob Halprin

Sarah, the orphan tag on the Rob Halprin page was placed incorrectly, there are numerous wiki articles referencing, Halprin, VRP, etc. Scott P Soniat (talk) 21:18, 6 December 2012 (UTC) Scott P Soniat

Sorry, but the orphan tag is still needed. If you click on the link on the left hand side that says "what links here" you can see that only a redirect and 2 user pages link there, they don't count. I have replace the tag for now and I will see if I can de-orphan it tomorrow when I have more time. Sarahj2107 (talk) 23:22, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

I count over 25 Wiki articles linking to Halprin, unless I am incorrect, I continue to believe it is not an "orphan." I'll be the first to admit I am NO expert when it comes to Wiki. 98.159.80.2 (talk) 06:57, 7 December 2012 (UTC)Scott P Soniat

I can still only see the redirect and the user pages, I even tried purging the page incase I wasn't seeing an updated list. Where are you seeing these 25 links? Did you click on the "what links here" link like I said above? Sarahj2107 (talk) 12:40, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
OK, I just tried a google search to see if the name was anywhere else on wikipedia and a link could be added to de-orphan it, the only pages that came up where user pages and categories which don't count. At the moment there is no other mentions of Rob Halprin in wikipedia articles so the name will have to be added to one and linked to the Rob Halprin article if you what the orphan tag removed.Sarahj2107 (talk) 12:46, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Sarah, thank you for the editorial review of the FactorySQL article! I added a few secondary/tertiary references to support the claims. Have a great day! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Notanotherindustrialblog (talkcontribs) 16:28, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

Dr. Robert C. Ankony

Sarah, thank you for your recent comment regarding me deleting a paragraph on Wikipedia's "75th Ranger Regiment" page. I remembered afterward that I should have left a comment on the Talk page so I went back and explained I deleted that paragraph because it was too convoluted and confusing for an encyclopedia. I also do much work polishing English and correcting obvious errors of facts on areas I have expertise.Icemanwcs (talk) 20:02, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

Compliance to Mutiara Bank article

Hi Sarah, Thanks for the edit and notes that you have made. I have added second and third weblinks which I hope could be seen as credible and noteworthy. However I seem to always failed to upload a logo. There is a logo of Mutiara Bank in Indonesian Wikipedia, here is the link: http://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berkas:Logomutiarabank.jpg Could you help me to link the logo for the upper right box of the Mutiara Bank article? Thank you soooo much :D Regards, -Sub handi (talk) 17:22, 28 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for adding a secondary source, if you can find any more news articles to add it would also help prove notability. I think the reason the logo wouldn't work is because it was on the Indonesian wiki and couldn't be used here. I have copied it to Wikimedia commons (here) and added that file name to the page, so it's working now. If you need any more help, let me know. Sarahj2107 (talk) 18:12, 28 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi Sarah, Thank you sooo much for your help on my very first wikipedia article creation :D I'm currently googling for an English news article with Mutiara Bank on it. When I have gathered enough references, I will expand the article. Regards, -Sub handi (talk) 18:23, 28 March 2013 (UTC)

Woodmere Cemetery

Good morning,

I am the historian for Woodmere Cemetery and have done extensive research about it including writing a book about it. It has frustrated me to see incorrect information about the cemetery in Wikipedia. I don't know who this person is who keeps posting that it is the oldest cemetery (it is NOT) but it keeps appearing and I am deeply concerned why incorrect information is allowed to be posted. If you can tell me why this has been allowed and end my frustration, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time and work you put into Wikipedia. It is a great source of information; I just want to make sure it is correct. Gdh148 (talk) 12:36, 1 April 2013 (UTC)gdh148

Hi, your edits appear to be unconstructive to other editors because you are removing all the current information including the only reference, the external links, the coordinates, the photo and all the categories. The reference provided states that it is the oldest cemetery and the information you are adding is not backed up by reliable sources. If you can find a reliable source that says it is not the oldest or that names the actual oldest then you can change the information on the page, as long as you don't do it by blanking everything else. I would also urge you to discuses the content on the article talk page so consensus can be reached rather that making any more controversial edits as you could be blocked for edit warring. Sarahj2107 (talk) 14:05, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

Hello, Sarah,

The person who keeps putting wrong information about Woodmere Cemetery cites MY book (Detroit's Woodmere Cemetery) and MY website (www.woodmerecemeteryresearch.com). In neither do I state that Woodmere is the oldest cemetery! On your own Wikipedia, Elmwood Cemetery in Detroit states that it was opened in 1846 (Woodmere did not open until 1869). Another cemetery, not on Wikipedia, Holy Cross Cemetery in Detroit, was opened in 1840 (see Deroit's Holy Cross Cemetery). I'm not trying to be difficult but I really do get tired of others putting up false information on the Internet. And if anyone would read what he posted, you would find many spelling and grammatical errors. Gdh148 (talk) 20:08, 1 April 2013 (UTC)Gdh148

I have removed the reference to it being to oldest cemetery. If you think there are spelling and grammatical errors then you are welcome to fix them yourself, so long as you don't replace the entire page in the process. Sarahj2107 (talk) 20:43, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

widow's mite

Please, could you help me?? I don't understand anything that just happened, neither can I even find the article I was just reading either?? I bought a widow's mite on E-Bay, it's a small gift for someone. I wanted to print a paper about it, she knows what 1 is, she's a wonderful, giving, Christian woman, I just wanted to print a page about the tiny little coin, put that in a frame, put the widow's mite in a very small clear coin holder and give it to her like that. Thank you for any, ANY help!! I am not computer literate AT ALL!! :-) Thank You and God BlessKateyesblue (talk) 16:12, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

The page you edited was Lesson of the widow's mite. If all you want is the text to put in a frame then I think the easiest way for you to do that is to copy the content on the page and past it into a Microsoft word file. You can then change or remove anything you want to and print that out. If you need any more help just let me know. Regards, Sarahj2107 (talk) 16:57, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Bobbie Willis

you are asking for other references to confirm that Robert Pool does owns Bobbie Willis's Memorabilia Collection. As Robert Pool is aka Zik Roberts l can confirm that l in fact own the entire 'Robert Pool Glasgow Collection'

Robert Pool — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zik Roberts (talkcontribs) 16:35, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Sorry but I afraid it's not enough to just say you're him and you own the collection. There should be a reference citing an interdependent source such as a newspaper or website to verify that it's true. If you can't find one for that specificaly then its OK for now, but there should be some sort of reference to an independent source talking about Bobbie Willis because at the moment there is only one.Sarahj2107 (talk) 16:59, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Ref to Robert Pool's collection can be found here : http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/glasgowandwestscotland/hi/people_and_places/history/newsid_9117000/9117861.stm

Bobbie Willis's father and grandfather are already refrerenced in Wikipedia and a link to her obituay. http://scottishmusichallsociety.webs.com/inmemorium.htm and http://www.thestage.co.uk/features/obituaries/2005/06/bobbie-willis/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Living .Does this help? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zik Roberts (talkcontribs) 18:16, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the links. Unfortunately Wikipedia doesn't allow people to reference itself but I have added the Scottish music hall society link. The BBC one doesn't seem to mention the Bobbie Willis memorabilia, unless I'm missing it, so I've left it out. With the second reference on the page, it should be fine for now. Sarahj2107 (talk) 18:54, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for your help. The BBC article does not mention any specific items as there are over 20,000 tactile objects plus thousands of photographs in the collection and not 2000 as the article stated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zik Roberts (talkcontribs) 13:48, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

how would l hyperlink Bobbie Willis to Dave Willis (her grandfather) and Denny Willis (her father) who already have wikipedia articles published on them?Zik Roberts 12:30, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

The Bobbie Willis article already links to Dave Willis and Denny Willis, you just add square brackets around the word or words you want to link. If you mean having a link to the Bobbie willis article in the other two articles, Denny Willis already has one. For Dave Willis you could add a sentence to his page mentioning her and a brief description of why she is notable, then make her name a wikilink. Sarahj2107 (talk) 13:22, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

Jascha Spivakovsky

Hi Sarah! Thanks for your message. I agree your edits make sense: I am still not finished adding citations (newpaper articles) which prove beyond any doubt that Jascha Spivakovsky was world famous and hailed by leading critics in every country as one of the best pianists of the 20th century. Great-circle distance edit

Hi again SaraJ. It must be the computer I'm using (at work). I earlier did another minor edit to Great-circle distance and I again inadvertedly deleted a link domain. I think I fixed by deleting the "http" part, but that still may not be right. Can you double check it (I don't want anyone to think it was deliberate)? Thanks.~~

Hi, I put the http back in and it looks OK now. Your computer or browser must be doing something weird but I can't think what or how to stop it from happening. You could try asking at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical) or the help desk, someone there might know. Sarahj2107 (talk) 19:04, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. I don't know if it is a different firewall or some wierd anti-SPAM block on this particular network (I'm just visiting :) but it doesn't seem to happen at my regular terminal and I'm getting ready to leave for the day, so this should be the end of it! :) 93.115.83.247 (talk) 19:41, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

David Luchins

Thanks for the invite - my issue with the David Luchins(at least one of them with the artice) is the artice seems to quote a whole thing about fundamentalism that is not in the source on-line.) In general the page creator seems to be picking and choosing what he/she wants printed. If you are a non biased editor, and have the time, perhaps you can take a look. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EMESPATROL (talkcontribs) 14:18, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

I have no idea who David Luchins is so I am not biased. If you think the sources used don't back up what is being said you need to make that more clear in your edit summaries or leave a not on the article talk page. Removing large sections of text with reliable sources without much explanation can look bad.
I will have a look and see if there is any bias of POV editing from the article creator.Sarahj2107 (talk) 14:26, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Thank you very much - I have noted the issue on the talk page - your help is appreciated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EMESPATROL (talkcontribs) 14:29, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Updated

Hi Sarah, I reviewed your notes and revised the references. This photographer is a well noted in the industry. Covering major celebrity events as seen here...http://www.peterjoe.com/contact.html Please review the changes and let me know. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gqkat (talkcontribs) 20:59, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Im sorry but the links provided still do not prove notability. The cameraplanet link is an improvement ([1] this more direct link to information may be better) but the docpub link is still not reliable as it can't be verified, anyone could have wrote that. To prove he is notable there needs to be significant coverage in independent reliable sources. If you would like me to check any other sources you find just let me know. If you think I'm wrong and he is notable then you're welcome to re-submit it for review and another editor will take a look. Sarahj2107 (talk) 08:12, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

Harris Associates

I work on the marketing team at Harris Associates and have been asked by the head of the firm to change our Wiki page since it's entirely inacurrate. I have changed it THREE times now and you keep reverting it back to the original incorrect verison. Please stop changing my edits. Thank you.

A. Corinne Clifton Associate, Consultant Relations Harris Associates (312) 610-0610 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Acclifton (talkcontribs) 16:24, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

Your edits are inappropriate as they removed sourced content and reliable references, they are promotional in nature and you have a conflict of interest. You also have no right to tell me what I can and can not edit. I will not revert our edits again because I do not want to get into an Edit war but I can assure you someone else will. I am also about to report your username as it is against wikipedia policy, in that you are representing A.C.Clifton.Sarahj2107 (talk) 16:55, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

How is it against wiki policy in that I am representing myself? Everything noted in my edits is in our mutual fund prospectus that's filed with FINRA and can be found on our website which I cited. I state a fact about how we invest, the most frequently asked question of any investment firm and complies with our standard language in our prospectus. No one at this firm even knows where the original language was sourced which is a problem since it's not accurate. The list of investors isn't even accurate. What would be helpful is to know how I can make this page accurate. Any help would be appreciated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Acclifton (talkcontribs) 17:18, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

You don't seem to understand how wikipedia works. As an encyclopedia it just reports what has been written in other sources, which the old version of the article did. Those sources need to be independent of the subject, i.e. not your website. If you feel something is incorrect discuses it on the article talk page first, especially if it is already referenced with a reliable source.Sarahj2107 (talk) 17:25, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

I have posted my requests on the talk page of the Harris wiki page. The reason why I sourced the website, which is also sourced on the current wiki page, is because the investment business is a heavily regulated business. All of the verbiage about our firm on our website must be approved by a legal team and also filed with financial investment regulators so that it is not promotional in nature and presents performance in an unbiased manner. None of the current language on the wiki page has been approved by legal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Acclifton (talkcontribs) 17:57, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

Your legal team doesn't have any say about what is or isn't on the wiki page, unless its copyrighted or libelous in which case it would be immediately removed anyway.Sarahj2107 (talk) 18:56, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
