Richard Lyon-Dalberg-Acton, 2nd Baron Acton

Hi, Sarah Jane, thank you for adding the Reflist to the article on the 2nd Lord Acton after me (without realising it until I read the view history this morning). I clearly didn't notice the words in red at the bottom when I logged off. I can tell you I have cited additional sources, but I have left most of the diplomatic posts uncited as I have used three sources which, on the dates of some appointments, disagree! Having alerted others in the Talk page, users may introduce their particular sources if they find and introduce the correct dates.Cloptonson (talk) 05:44, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

No problem. I've removed the {{one source}} tag now that there are more on the page and the others on the talk page will help as well. After these have been added and you have finished with any major additions I can reassess it for WikiProject Biography because it definably isn't a stub anymore. How can i remove orphan tag from my article?

Hello Sarah, Thank you for your help to develop my article.i've a article with named Madhupur Shahid Smrity Higher Secondary School. How can i remove orphan tag from it? (Nahid (talk) 21:42, 16 July 2012 (UTC))

Hi, I have removed the orphan tag for you as it is no longer needed. If you click on the link named 'What links here' in the toolbox section on the left hand side of the page, it will tell you what pages link to the article. Generally if 3 or more articles link to the page it is no longer an orphan, and you can just delete the tag from the top of the page yourself. I hope this helps, regards Sarahj2107 (talk) 21:51, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

Thanks again (Nahid (talk) 21:57, 16 July 2012 (UTC))

Regarding James Loeb

Unfortunately I think I "jumped the gun" with my edit to the James Loeb Wikipedia page. I have been doing a rather in depth study into the banking system, both central and prior to the creation of the Federal Reserve, in the United States, its origins and the bankers/politicians/businessmen responsible and, as I'm sure you can imagine, this research comes with some rather conflicting "facts" that can either be well intended or ideologically biased in nature. Although there is an overwhelming body of evidence, which grows ever larger as more and more information is made accessible to the public, that some aspects of history are contrived, I have been unable to find additional resources to support my addition to the Loeb page (other than the Ellis Island passenger record) and would prefer removing my edit. Sorry for the inconvenience. By the way, keep up the good work moderating. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 3rdVariable (talkcontribs) 22:00, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

I can well believe that parts of history are contrived and I've come across conflicting facts myself in the past. Thanks for understanding that we need to keep everything as accurate as possible here on Wikipedia and good luck with the rest of your research. Sarahj2107 (talk) 22:10, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Many thinks from a newbie

Thanks for correcting my citation on the Mat Hoffman book. I have looked for the change but can't see it. Can you help me with that? If not, that is OK because I want it correct. I appreciate your time. Joe (talk) 01:54, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
You're welcome. The problem that was creating the cite error was an extra {{reflist}} tag between the Bio and Achievements sections, which I removed. This means that that tag renders all the footnotes above it (in the lead and Bio sections) and then ignores all the rest below it. The page can't handle more than one {{reflist}} (unless you use the group function) so it also ignores that, and the inline citations below the first {{reflist}} cause the cite error message to appear. I hope that makes sense, you could read Help:Footnotes or Wikipedia:Citation templates if you want to know more. If you need any more help with anything just let me know. Regards Sarahj2107 (talk) 09:16, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks! That makes lots of sense -- especially after last night when I ended up with 3 sets of identical reference lists in an article -- each about 50 entries. I removed the two duplicates and feel happy I noticed them. Joe (talk) 17:10, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for July 24

Hi. When you recently edited Harry Windsor (surgeon), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cork, Ireland (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Traci Kochendorfer‎

Hi Sarah, I've decided to take a fairly hardline with User:Askshoop and blocked him/her from editing for a day. I fdon't like blocking people, but in this case I think it was warranted. I tried leaving messages on the user's talk page to explain why I was deleting the material, but s/he went ahead and restored it several times. Unfortunately, I don't know if that user is going to be able to contribute comprehensible material to this article. I think there is a serious English language problem with this user. Thanks for your attention to the article. Regards, Ground Zero | t 20:36, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Dr Nalaka Godahewa

Dear Sarah,

this page referred above was originally created by me and has been improved a lot by many other parteis. However since this page is about a living person, there is a possibility of vandalism. Therefore can you please tag this page as "protected", so only the genuine users can edit the page.

Thank You.

Regards,

Sevpdin. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sevpdin (talkcontribs) 02:44, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I'm not an administrator so I can protect pages. If you feel that a page needs protected you can request it at the Requests for page protection page. However, looking through the edit history of the Nalaka Godehewa page, I can not see any problems with vandalism by IP or new editors, that is usually the only reason a page is projected.
I understand that you may be concerned about vandalism as its about a living person, but if you make sure the page is added to your watch list then you can see every time someone edits it and quickly revert if it is vandalism.
I hope this helps and if you have any other problems or questions feel free to ask. Regards, Sarahj2107 (talk) 12:00, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

RIAI Article

Hi Sarahj, thanks for your participation to the RIAI article. The original article was deleted and replaced on 9 July 2012‎ by user "Sandraandreaoconnell". Sandra O'Connell is employed by the RIAI. She is in charge of their magazine and other public image related events. She removed content that was not flattering and replaced it by what the RIAI wants the public to know and believe. I am personally a member of AAoI, which is an organisation opposing the RIAI against many matters. I could have reverted the edition by Sandra O'Connell on the 9th of July. However, I did not want to enter an edit war as it happened on the AAoI Wiki article.

I am wondering if we can now revert the article to its precedent form (9 July 2012), rather than to propose it for deletion. It would help if you could give me your opinion on this matter. Thanks in advance. --Christophe Krief (talk) 11:16, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi Christophe, I did notice the edits Sandraandreaoconnell made and that they made the page look at lot worse but as her edit summary made it look like she was replacing out of date info I decided to leave the current version for now and try to copy edit it. After I got a couple of paragraphs in though I realised it might not be possible, it is written in a very promotional tone, was probably copy pasted from their website, and after having another look I can see she removed all the non-primary references. I was going to go back and deal with the copy/pasted material and I think that reverting is the best solution especially if Sandraandreaoconnell is in charge of their PR. Do you want me to go ahead and revert now or do you want to leave a message on the article talk page for a few days and see if anyone objects. Sarahj2107 (talk) 13:30, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
Hi Sarahj, I have already left messages on the talk page, but no-one appears interested. The RIAI got involved in the article because some of the content high-lighted many of their wrong-doing. I am not neutral in the conflict that exists between the RIAI and other groups, so I need to act carefully not to let my convictions taking over. I created the AAoI article. If I revert the RIAI article to its previous form, I will be accused of vandalism. I have drafted most of the critics that formed the previous RIAI article. The fact is that the rest of the article was short and poor without any references. Anyway, the article in its present form is only propaganda. It must be proposed for deletion or reverted to its pre-"Sandraandreaoconnell" form. I will leave a proposal for deletion or revert on the talk page. Talk to you later.--Christophe Krief (talk) 10:05, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

Judith Lorber

Hi, you have graciously made comments on my entry on "Judith Lorber." I have substantially revised the article and addressed all the issues you had pointed out. Yet the editorial (rather unpleasing :) header is still be there after several weeks with the same comments. When or how can this be removed? Thank you so very much. 99.126.173.31 (talk) 12:35, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for your improvements to the Judith Lorber page, it looks much better now. I have removed the 'copy edit' tag and the more 'footnotes tag' however I have left the 'BLP sources' tag as there is still too much unreferenced content for an article about a living person. I have added some 'citation needed' tags throughout the article to indicate where citation are still needed. My other concern is that nearly all of the current citations are primary sources, they are books, articles or talks by Judith Lorber herself. These need to be replace by Independent, reliable sources, such as books or newspaper articles by 3rd parties talking about her or her work.
After the improvements have been made anyone can remove the maintenance tags by deleting the relevant templates at the top of the page. I know they don't look nice but please don't remove them until the issues have been addressed. If you need any help with anything just let me know. Thanks, Sarahj2107 (talk) 14:33, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
Thank you so very much, Sarah. I will work on it some more and thank you for explaining to me so patiently! 99.126.173.31 (talk) 17:42, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
