April 2011 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Vartul has been reverted.
Your edit here to Vartul was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/pages/Vartul-Circle/116968501698139) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 07:33, 11 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

  Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Vartul, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.   Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Vartul do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia.

License tagging for File:Vartul.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading File:Vartul.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 06:06, 13 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Misplaced article edit

I noticed that you began to write an article at Help:Introduction to editing with Wiki Markup/1. I have undone your edit there, because that is one of the help pages. It is not a good place to submit content for the encyclopedia. I suggest that you look at Wikipedia:Your first article and perhaps try again using the Article wizard. -- John of Reading (talk) 19:09, 15 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Non-free rationale for File:Galliposter JPG.jpeg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Galliposter JPG.jpeg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 20:28, 16 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Galli (Short Film ) edit

Hello, Santoshram1. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Galli (Short Film ), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Orphaned non-free image File:Galliposter JPG.jpeg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Galliposter JPG.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:18, 18 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of Galli (film) for deletion edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Galli (film) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Galli (film) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Onel5969 TT me 03:57, 21 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Santosh Ram moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Santosh Ram, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.   Kadzi  (talk) 12:25, 13 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Santosh Ram. Thanks! Atlantic306 (talk) 20:46, 13 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
You didn't ask an actual question, but I'm guessing that you want to know how to respond to the accusations of copyright violation. I think the editor who declined on that basis is misreading the results of using the tool. Yes, you are guilty of copying a couple of sentences from your own website, but it's not of much consequence.
Your draft can't be accepted in its current form for a few additional reasons.
  • It lacks inline citations for much of the body; these are required for a BLP.
  • You are attempting use as references sources that are not allowed, such as your own website, and your Wikipedia article Vartul, and your profile on Mubi.
  • You do not, through your references, establish that you meet any of the notability criteria at NFILMMAKER.
  • The overall tone of the article gives the impression that you are engaged in self-promotion.
My advice is to stop worrying about Wikipedia and focus on your filmmaking and redirect your efforts at publicity to outlets that would welcome them. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 05:04, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Santosh Ram draft edit

Hi, on Wikipedia autobiographies are heavily discouraged so even if your article is published it is more likely to be deleted or tag bombed than a non-autobio. So I advise you to add the article name and your best references to the list of WP:Requested articles. Also I disagree with the above editor because copyvio of a few sentences is certainly a problem that needs to be corrected, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 19:38, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sandbox/santosram moved to draftspace edit

Your article Sandbox/santosram has been moved to draftspace. It may have been your intention to move to userspace (I.e. sandbox etc.) but it was in mainspace. This is because of the clear mis-titling of an item in mainspace and also in view of the issues with the item it needs to be submitted for review. When / if you think it is ready for mainspace you can submit for review by placing {{subst:submit}} at the top of the draft. This will produce a submission notice and add it to the list of articles awaiting review. Please do not move to mainspace without completing the review procedure and please ensure that WP:COI has been complied with. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 09:48, 14 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Santoshram1. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. If your only reason for being here is to promote yourself and your work, then you should not edit Wikipedia anymore. Please use the many alternative outlets that permit this type of writing. Any notable work of yours will be added by other people who have no personal or professional connection to you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 05:14, 24 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

April 2021 edit

  Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 10:23, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Santosh Ram edit

Hello, Santoshram1

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Santosh Ram for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
