Contesting 'Article Submission Declined'
Hello Cutest Penguin Thank you for reviewing my article submission (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Coolkrc/Ranveer_Brar), I have a few queries regarding the points you have raised.
- "It seems to be copyvi from http://www.sanjeevkapoor.com/Starchef/Ranveer-Brar ..which needs to be removed." - Which bit are you specifically referring to please? If this is the Awards and Recognition bit, then I wish to inform that the article on sanjeevkapoor.com itself is an extract from the book Celebrated chefs of India. Moreover, I have personally verified and sought approval from Chef Ranveer Brar to use this material verbatim in the article.
- "Article require additional reliable sources to establish notability as well as external links used in the article needs to be removed while it must be cited with reliable one, not the self-published." - Again this point is not clear. As per other WIKI articles, I have included the original website of the Chef, plus his page on Facebook and from Zee Khana Khazana where he is a show host. This page is not created by the Chef, but by me - Krithika. So I am really struggling here to understand what I must rectify.
- "....why the subject is notable and worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia." - Chef Ranveer Brar is a famous celebrity chef, has an immense fan following, and I have also given several valid references under Awards and Recognition re why he is notable. **EDIT - I have since added several links and citations under a 'Further Reads' section which details Chef Brar's achievements and so on.
Above all, I wish to certify that whatever information I have provided in this article is courtesy the Chef himself, using information from his professional profile that he emailed me, as also his own website so I can use it as a reference about his career, achievements etc for this article. Kindly advise what I need to do further, as this is my first article and I really am looking forward for it to be published at the earliest. User Coolkrc (talk) 05:45, 1 October 2014 (UTC)Coolkrc
Image for my article
Hello again Cutest Penguin
Re a written permission to use the profile picture in the infobox in the article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Coolkrc/Ranveer_Brar I have asked for a formal email to be sent to me which I will forward to the wikipedia permissions email address as soon as I have the email. Coolkrc (talk) 07:52, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Coolkrc: I don't think you have removed the copyvio contents, if you are not sure about what all are copyivo contents you may like to see it here. If you have sent any such permission seeking email please tag the image with
{{OTRS pending}}
. Thank you! — CutestPenguinHangout 13:11, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Cutest_Penguin - Thanks for your reply and thanks for clarifying the copyvio issue. I can change the wordings on that list but I do need that list of Awards and recognition, since it's for a celebrity chef. I have assembled the list from different interviews so, yes the information will clash with one or the other :( . Will changing the text slightly help? But mind, that too cannot be completely changed for eg, "He has been recognised by xyz association" can only be mentioned as such. Which is why I made sure to attribute all the articles in the References list. Please advise.
Re the image, I have awaiting the email and will forward right away to the Wiki email with the appropriate tags. Coolkrc (talk) 13:32, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Coolkrc: I have left my suggestion at the draft in the form of comment, you can follow the links for the details on how you can improve the article. — CutestPenguinHangout 13:59, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Cutest Penguin: - UPDATE - I have now further edited and modified the wordings in that list, and the copyvio detector has reduced the comparison percentage to 49%. I am afraid that is the best I can do since the Chef himself gave me the go ahead to include those achievements in the list. Moreover, as stated above..these credits would invariably clash with one or the other article because the wordings of certain recognitions cannot be too modified.
Regarding the comparison with the Zee Khana Khazana website - https://tools.wmflabs.org/copyvios/?lang=en&project=wikipedia&title=User%3ACoolkrc%2FRanveer_Brar&action=compare&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.zeekhanakhazana.com%2Fchefnhost%2Franveer-brar.html --- here again, if you see the phrases highlighted, they are the names of the shows that the Chef anchors, and can only be mentioned verbatim. Apart from these, I have made sure to use my own language as far as the main article is concerned. Hope you understand. Pls let me know if I have helped resolve your concern. Coolkrc (talk) 13:45, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Coolkrc: I have removed the copyvio comment, but still there is notability problem all you need to find reliable sources. Thank you. — CutestPenguinHangout 13:54, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
- @CutestPenguin: Thanks again for your prompt reply. Re Notability, I have since this morning, added a separate section titled Further reads, with links to at least 10 articles (I had to leave out many more as they were repetetive) that credit the chef for his achievements since the beginning of his career, etc. In addition, I do feel that his awards and recognition list(which can also be verified by original images of some certificates on his own website) make for a valid case for a WIKI article :) Kindly consider. Thanks

- @Coolkrc: I don't think that Wikipedia emphasis on any such section, I suggest convert those into references if possible and are reliable. — CutestPenguinHangout 14:04, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Cutest Penguin: I have removed the Further reads section and added those verifiable article links under the References section itself. Please confirm if OK. Only the email for the image left now which should be done in the next hour.

@CutestPenguin - Thanks for your reply, but I am still not clear on what you mean about improving the draft w.r.t references. I've explained that I can't change the wording for the credits section beyond a certain extent. Plus I've added as many references as possible to add credibility. An example of what exactly you are suggesting will be very helpful. 106.208.83.75 (talk) 02:02, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

16:53:39, 4 October 2014 review of submission by Jds319
Dear Cutest Penguin: Please help me to understand how to prove the notability of the subject. I have included many references to Dr. Kambin from medical writing and peer review articles. Dr. Kambin is a Pioneer in his field. His finding and inventions have been vetted in the medical community and are being used in the US and throughout the world. Being a pioneer in his field most of the documentation on this subject are his own notes and writings. Any insight or direction you can provide will be welcomed.

07:50:56, 5 October 2014 review of submission by DanielleLachance
DanielleLachance (talk) 07:50, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
Hello Cutest Penguin,
I see that you had declined by submission, and I was just wondering if you could elaborate on your explanation. I wasn't sure what the following meant: '"As well as it seems to be copyvio from jwa.org/encyclopedia/article/israel-womens-network and some external links used in the article which needs to be removed."' Does "copyvio" mean plagiarized? If so, could you point out what part of my text is plagiarized, because I've read through my text and the text of the webpage and found nothing that seemed to be copied. And which external links need to be removed, and why?
Thank you, I appreciate your feedback!
Danielle

. Well, copyvio means that the content that you have added in the article is seems to be copied from that particular website whose link has been provided in the draft while declining your submission. Click here to see copvio if you are not sure about what all contents has been copied. In some places in your draft you have directly linked the draft with some URLs such as Prevention of Sexual Harassment Law, Prevention of Family Violence Law, Committee for the Advancement of Women which is not permitted on Wikipedia please avoid poiting direct links. Thanks! — CutestPenguinHangout 10:04, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
