September 2016 edit

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to David P. Webster, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. freshacconci talk to me 14:30, 23 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

freshacconci, the reasons I removed the maintenance templates are listed on the Talk:David_P._Webster page. The of the two issues listed on in the maintenance template, the one source is outdated and observably incorrect. The second referring to primary sources has been addressed--though I'm not sure if it has been resolved. Thanks. Samokon (talk) 14:47, 23 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

I removed the one source template as that has been resolved. As for the other, addressing it is one thing, resolving it is another. Right now the sources are almost all primary and/or connected to the subject. As a notable figure in his field, sources such as newspaper articles should be relatively easy to find. Since it's a BLP issue, Wikipedia takes sources seriously. Articles of otherwise notable people can be deleted because of sourcing issues. The template should remain until at least a few non-trivial sources are added. I did a bit of copyediting but the subject is outside my area of knowledge so I wouldn't be able to do an adequate job finding sources. The article is in decent shape it just needs better sourcing. freshacconci talk to me 14:57, 23 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
