http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Central_College and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polonnaruwa_Royal_Central_College are refering to a same place. I tried to delete the latter and keep the former since it has beein linked to the "Schools in Sri Lanka" and in the page "pollonnaruwa" under present situation " Royal central collge". Appriciate if one experence user could fix this duplication. I tried by deleting the later but was blocked. Saman SL(Saman SL 13:49, 25 July 2007 (UTC))Reply

License tagging for Image:Sri Lanka Tea Gardens Nuwara Eliya.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Sri Lanka Tea Gardens Nuwara Eliya.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:11, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Lion logo.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Lion logo.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. — Indon (reply) — 15:36, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image source problem with Image:Lion logo.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Lion logo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:36, 25 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Indon (reply) — 15:36, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Corolla logo.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Corolla logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Durin 17:40, 30 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Corolla logo.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Corolla logo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Durin 17:40, 30 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re:My Images are not loaded... edit

Machan there is a Wikipedia policy regarding the use of images called the fair use policy. It says that non-free images may only be used in limited ways in Wikipedia articles. I'm not exactly sure what images you're referring to, but if they have been uploaded under fair use guidelines, you can't use them in Userboxes. If so, the best thing will be to take the pictures yourself and upload them to Wikipedia.

If you need any more help machan just reply on my talk page or send me an email. --snowolfD4 ( talk / @ ) 05:55, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • As Snowolfd4 noted, the use of fair use images in userboxes is not permitted. Such images may only be used on actual encyclopedia articles. Thus, images such as Image:Honda-logo.JPG can not be used on things like User:Saman SL/UserBoxes/Car/HondaCivic. The relevant policy is WP:NFCC item #9. If you have questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. Thanks, --Durin 22:37, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Lion logo.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Lion logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:10, 6 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your request to delete the account User:Sakulk edit

We do not delete old accounts. We need to keep them to retain editing history information. However, I have marked the user page and talk page as being on a defunct account. If you like I can do either or both of the following: (1) delete your old user page and (2) block the account. If you want me to do one or both of those then let me know on my talk page.
