Edit Summaries edit

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you.

Da Da Da (Lil Wayne Single) edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. A page you recently created may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new pages, so it will shortly be removed (if it hasn't been already). Please use the sandbox for any tests, and consider using the Article Wizard. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Your first article. You may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 18:39, 13 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

COMMENT   Sam, I have fixed the linkrot in the Da Da Da (Lil Wayne Single) wikiarticle and attempted to wikify it for you. I have also added an {{Infobox song}} infobox to the article and filled in what I could for you. Try and add any more info to the various infobox fields that you can.

If you go back to the news article that you found at Rock & Roll Daily, there is quite a bit more info that you could pull from it to add to your wikiarticle. Just be sure not to plagiarize. Also, try using a search engine like Google to find other articles on this song in other periodicals (e.g., Rolling Stone). (If you click on this Google link, I have set it up to do the search for you.)

Finally, you ought to look at WP:RS, WP:CITE, and WP:REFBEGIN to find out what is a reliable source, how to cite a reliable source, and how to format references/footnotes for reliable sources.

If you need any help, you can catch me on my Talk page. But, I have to warn you: I have never worked on a song article before.

Good luck and happy editing! — SpikeToronto 19:29, 13 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
