Fair use rationale for File:Walking cover.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Walking cover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 23:42, 24 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

The article The Vancouver Boots (singer) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 01:41, 25 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Cher+Already+Been+There.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Cher+Already+Been+There.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Katy perry teenage dream cover

edit

well, i am not blind... i bought the deluxe edition of the album, and that is the one without the title. please go to google and look for the cd on the hmv group. see the deluxe cover and the standard cover, thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Salgado96 (talkcontribs) 15:18, 13 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I didn't say you were blind. hmv UK has the same cover for both the Standard and Deluxe Editions of Teenage Dream, as does hmv Canada, hmv Hong Kong, and hmv Japan, so I'm not really sure where you're seeing this. Yvesnimmo (talk) 15:49, 13 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Actually the discussion on the talk page established that in some regions i.e. the UK, you can by the deluxe or standard edition with the cover with text or without. Therefore as the cover with text was released it is easier to explain that a cover exists without the text, than it is to explain that a cover with kandy-kane style text was also released. Per WP:NFCC more than one cover art is not allowed as the second one does not add significant contextual significance and does not convey more information than one cover alone does. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 14:15, 17 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
To sort the issue once and for all I've brough the discussion up here. Please not that unless there is a general consensus and agreement that the inclusion of two covers is correct only one cover should remain at the article. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 14:39, 17 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Teenage dream music sheet.JPG

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Teenage dream music sheet.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yvesnimmo (talk) 18:47, 28 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Reveal (Bruce Buckley album)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Reveal (Bruce Buckley album) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Ironholds (talk) 16:15, 28 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Milla at the Borderline London 1994..jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Milla at the Borderline London 1994..jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. Michael (album)

Please STOP labelling it as a studio album. If you READ the talk page you can quite clearly see that a consensus has been establised that the album is a Compilation album and NOT a studio album! If you persist on inserting information that consensus has clearly REJECTED you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Barts1a | Talk to me | Yell at me | Merry Christmas to all! 00:39, 31 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why is it that every single time an editor correctly changes Michael from compilation to studio you guys always threaten to block them? This is why most editors are afraid to change Michael back to its correct form, studio album, but there are few of us who aren't afraid of you people. Chelo61 (talk) 05:58, 31 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Admins don't usually block editors for good faith attempts to improve an article. They may, however, block editors for edit-warring. A Quest For Knowledge (talk) 21:34, 1 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
And by the way: It has been established on the talk page that it is a compilation album. Anyone who changes it to studio album is going against the established consensus. As you should know by now: going against an established consensus after the Bold, Revert, Discuss cycle has been done and found that the bold change should not be included in the article is usually where you should stop. "Busy for Me" and "Okay Alright"

Two song articles you've created, "Busy for Me" and "Okay Alright", appear to be by an artist without an article, and may be eligible for speedy deletion per CSD A9. Please take a moment to either link the recording artist in these articles, or create the article in question. Thank you.  -- WikHead (talk) 00:45, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Because I'm not the person who would be performing the actual deletion, I highly recommend that you add your explanation to the talk pages of both these articles to give the (possible) deletion-admin some indication of your plans. I can't guarantee that it will stop such a deletion though, because both of these articles are currently eligible for CSD A9, and very well could disappear at any moment. It might be a wise idea to move these articles into user-space draft, until you have the artist's article completed.  -- WikHead (talk) 01:06, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I appreciate you nominating articles for a GA, but fix the existing ones. There's Kylie Minogue's X, which you haven't touched at all. Please complete that first, and then move on to others. Thank you. Novice7 (talk) 03:52, 25 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Like a Prayer GAN

edit

I would advice you to withdraw the nomination. I can see so many outstanding issues and original research that it will be quick-failed. There's no cohesion, no structure, no background development properly. Frankly, Like a Prayer deserves better than just a lengthy lead. — Legolas (talk2me) 12:16, 9 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

And I just saw that you did not even contribute anything to the article. This is absolutely disgusting, and such a bad faith editing on your part. I'm removing the nomination. — Legolas (talk2me) 12:20, 9 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Critical reception sections on album articles.

edit

Don't make edits like this to any other album articles. Those table aren't there because they look good, it's a guideline for the project. Before you do things like that (changing tables, rearranging layouts, etc.) look and see why they are there in the first place. Stop

edit

Im going to ask that you stop nominating articles for WP:GA. Talk:Eat Me, Drink Me/GA2, Talk:Eat Me, Drink Me/GA1, Talk:The Golden Age of Grotesque/GA2 have all failed. You need to read and fully understand all of WP:MOS, WP:GA and Wikipedia:WIAGA#What_is_a_good_article.3F before you nominate any more articles. If you continue to do so and do not respond to this message your editing may be considered disruptive and you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 18:07, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

  Ok, I'll read the articles you said. Salgado96 (talk) 20:58, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Good work reorganizing and rewriting those pages, however, you forgot to properly source them. Mansonwiki, The Nachtkabarett, etc. are not reliable (i.e. good enough) sources for Wikipedia. I have provided a couple of good ones on the talk page of The Golden Age of Grotesque. Also, don't forget to cite them (using the cite templates). That is a necessity to attain GA or FAC status. -Red marquis (talk) 21:53, 17 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Arma goddamn music video.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Arma goddamn music video.jpg.

If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thanks for uploading File:Still inside your mind sample.ogg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Untitled Marilyn Manson album

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Untitled Marilyn Manson album, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://wikibin.org/tags/guitarist.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. Hi, I know that you didn't start the review, but procedurally this needs to be deleted so that WP:GAN doesn't show the article as being under review. If it is shown as being under review, then reviewers likely won't start a review. Please leave notes on the article talk page or use the note parameter of the GAN template. Looking at the article it seems to have few WP:RS, so I suggest you work on finding some. Jezhotwells (talk) 17:31, 1 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Image help

Hi Salgado96, I notice you seem to be having a little image trouble. Don't worry, it's a common problem here. If you upload any images which are subject to copyright you'll need to include a fair use rationale with each image. I recently came across one of your images over at a Katy Perry article and went ahead and did that for you here [2]. If you have any questions feel free to get a hold of me here or on my talk page and I'll do my best to help. Thanks!--Crossmr (talk) 00:31, 3 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on File:Marilyn Manson performing at the Soundwave Festival in Adelaide, Australia, 3-03-2012.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File permission problem with File:Sim.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Sim.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:26, 16 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Non-free rationale for File:Rua da saudade art cover.jpg

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Marilyn manson 2010.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Marilyn manson 2010.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

File source problem with File:Finished with my ex band logo.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Finished with my ex band logo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
