Deletion of Rivers

The issue of the criteria for rivers has been discussed several times. A consensus has been reached that there is no criterion for the minimum importance of a river in order to be included in Wikipedia. I fail to understand your concerns.Afil (talk) 02:25, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Its not so much something you can join, there is no step by step guide. All any of us can do is keep an eye on Category:Wikipedians looking for help and try your best to answer any questions people may have--Jac16888^Talk 13:48, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

(e/c) There is no formal "joining" of the helpme function. Rather, users who want to participate either monitor Category:Wikipedians looking for help, or monitor the IRC channel #wikipedia-en-help, which is notified whenever the template is used. You can join that channel (chat room) if you want to help out (click here for instant access). I use User:Ais523/catwatch.js to keep abreast of the category, and is how I came across your question. Of course, you can just simply drop by the category every so often, but that's a very hit or miss way of participating. You might find Wikipedia:Help desk/How to answer a useful general resource for how to answer questions, as well as {{help desk templates}} (included on that page) of interest. Note also the following handy template, tailored to this category: {{Helpme-nq}}, which addresses those users who place {{helpme}} on their talk page but fail to ask a question (this is not uncommon for whatever reason). Take a look at WP:CITE for full deatils. In brief, though, you cite a source by using <ref> tags:

eg. This is some article text.<ref>[http://www.example.com Example reference]</ref>.

Use a {{reflist}} template at the bottom of the page (under the references header) to make the reference appear as a footnote. (The reflist template will probably be there already, so you won't need to add it.) ∙ AJCham^talk 16:21, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

AfroCine: Join us for the Months of African Cinema in October!

In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.
