Hello Saged. I have reverted the edits you made today to Fort McPherson, because it appears you have taken them from a publication aimed either at soldiers/families posted to the place, or at people to entice them there. Either way, the result is not really helpful in an encyclopaedia.

Hello Lindsay,

I work in the Fort McPherson Public Affairs Office and have been tasked to update this site. My office is responsible for disseminating all information about Fort McPherson, both internally and externally. All of the information that I have input onto this site was produced by this office in our Fort McPherson Installation Guide Book, which is hot off the press and will soon be uploaded onto our Web site. These guidebooks are distributed to newly arrived Soldiers and their families, new employees as well as any other individuals who are interested in obtaining information about Fort McPherson. These guide books are for purely informational purposes and are by no means being used to promote or entice people to come to Fort McPherson. I had assumed that it would be a good idea to post similar information from our guide book on this site for people who had any inquiries about Fort McPherson (it's history, it's services, it's intended date of closure and where all of the units are being dispersed under the Base Realignment and Closure Act (BRAC) etc.) to easily obtain this information. It's just a complete breakdown of what Fort McPherson is all about, and in a sense, isn't that the intent of an encyclopedia -- to provide correct and comprehensive information on a specific topic? My only intent is to inform anyone who is interested about the who, what and wheres of Fort McPherson. May i suggest you take a look at this page, which is a guideline about editing on a page where you may have a conflict of interest. I think it's pretty clear that if you "have been tasked" to edit the Wikipedia article about your place of employment there is a conflict of interest, a possible difference of goals between your employer and the encyclopaedia.

Secondly, if i may, i'll point out just a couple of things about how you edited ~ not, i assure you, for any other purpose than to help or guide you; my goal is just to improve Wikipedia, and get the best editors possible volunteering and editing here.

You wrote Whether you have already arrived, have recently received orders to report here or are visiting, the information in this publication is designed to help you get settled and learn about our on-post services and off-post opportunities. The general, but not invariable, practice is that articles are written in an impersonal manner, or in the third person, not the second person (you). Also, this publication would refer to Wikipedia, and its design is not to help anyone settle anywhere.

The History section really didn't need to talk about Atlanta; that takes place in its article.

All the information about the housing is probably more detailed than necessary here. Also, the contact information in that section is inappropriate for an encyclopaedia.

Please don't take these criticisms badly or to heart. Please do continue editing; after all, you obviously have information about Fort McPherson that i don't access to from here.
