What is this?

(re-categorisation per CFD, Replaced: {{R from alternate name}} → {{R from alternative name}})

I am sure it will do no harm, but won't it save a lot of bot work if someone edits the template to transclude the new category name, instead of renaming all the existing instances of the template? I will check the talk for the template. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 21:55, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

There seems to be no documentation, except a remark in Wikipedia:Categories_for_deletion/Log/2006_September_23#Redirects_from_alternative that says that to change a transcluded category requires that a page be opened and saved again. Currently the issue is the category doesn't update on redirected templates. So far, replacing has been the only solution that works. --Sagabot 22:06, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

My point was that there was no need to redirect {{R from alternate name}}, but simply to change the category name in the {{R from alternate name}} template code. Error in bot

Hi, Your bot did a poor regexp/substitute. In Template:User degree/BSc subject, it changed [[Category:User degree/BSc|{{PAGENAME}}]] into [[Category:Wikipedians with BS degreesc|{{PAGENAME}}]]. The difference here is that up to "BS" was substituted, but not "c", which was left behind. Just thought I ought to let you know. +mwtoews 06:00, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Oh, and one last bit ... BS == BSc ... they are the same, with the exception of what is on our degrees or business cards, or whatever. They should stay in the same category, just different shorthands. +mwtoews 06:03, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

hi,

this bot tagged Talk:Phidippus audax with the Template:ArthropodTalk. However, it is part of the sub-project WP:SPI, and thus should probably not be tagged additionaly with ArthropodTalk.
