Anini tiger

Hi, I would like to say that just because the Anini tigers are morphologically distinct from other tigers in India or South Asia, that does not have to mean that they are a different subspecies. Take the Sundarbans tiger, which is morphologically distinct from other tigers, but was found to be genetically close to other tigers in South Asia, to the extent that it can be treated as belonging to the same subspecies as them. I was hoping to share the information regarding a potential new tiger subspecies. As I had said in my edits, the genetic testing for the Anini tigers had not yet been completed and thus far the evidence remains inconclusive. But the possibility of a new tiger subspecies was too interesting and intriguing to pass up and not share in the article. Hence my addition of the information to the article. If you need help in properly editing a cite, here is a great place to start Template:Cite web.I find this to be one of my favorites ~ :{{cite web |url= |title= |last= |first= |date= |work= |access-date=}},all you have to do is click on <ref></ref> next to Cite your sources at the bottom of the screen of the article you are editing and insert the {{cite}} template in between the <ref> </ref>. References in articles

Hi, please take the time to locate and add journal citations (even if not formatted using a template) for any studies you reference in edits. Science articles in news publications are usually reductionist or inaccurate, and often they do not even link to the original research study. Very much agreed, the same goes for the many additions to Smilodon that are sourced to random pop science articles instead of the actual studies. That said, added content is appreciated, it just needs to be done the proper way. FunkMonk (talk) 23:29, 26 December 2019 (UTC)

Hi. I see in a recent addition to Tyrannosaurus you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. If you go into View History on the page regarding Tyrannosauridae on 22 February 2019, you will see it was my addition to the article upon coming across the information and citing it from the PeerJ Journal, respectively. Stop adding bare references

Hi, thank you to adding newest information to recent various pages about dinosaurs, such as Tyrannosaurus, Koreaceratops, Spinosaurus etc. But apparently, you've been adding URL-only references, bare references, to your pages. You have pointed out that in 2019, but haven't you improved yet? Especially with the visual editing feature, it's very easy to add a paper or articles as a reference. I pinged you in Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Dinosaurs and commented to not to make reference just with link. But you added bare references again in Amargasaurus and Bajadasaurus. I'm grateful for the addition of information, but I'd appreciate it if you could be careful. Ta-tea-two-te-to (talk) 08:10, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

I apologize if my citations are not up to your standards, but the utilization of these cited sources in their bare references is an unfortunate necessity at this time due to my difficulty in using more traditional citation methods due to my difficulty in reading and understanding some of the other, more heavily utilized formats. They sometimes appear jumbled and hard to read to me when I'm trying to cite papers that have multiple authors (generally more than two). I have a similar problem with the creation of automatic taxoboxes due to the fact that they don't let you fill in the necessary information or provide ranks such as phylums, kingdoms, or genera for you to fill out, which is why I utilize older formats when creating articles like I did for Promegantereon as an example.Saberrex-Strongheart (talk) 15:27, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

Lung fish and citations

Thanks for your updates on the long lived lungfish. I think the reason you are having difficulties with citations is because you are using the old text editor. If you try using the Visual Editor, you will find it a lot easier to create citations. I took the journal url you supplied and used the Visual Editor's "Cite > Automatic" and it did a great job creating the citation just from the URL, see it on Burnett River. To enable the Visual Editor, please go to your Preferences (probably top right of screen) select the Editing tab, and then scroll down and tick "Enable The Visual Editor" and then a little lower, set the Editor Mode to "show me both editor tabs" and then scroll to the bottom and click Save. This will allow you to use either the text editor or the visual editor on any article. "Edit" uses the Visual Editor and "Edit source" uses the text editor.
