Linkspam
editI thought I would drop you a note to let you know what I meant by "linkspam cleanup". The link I removed was probably best suited to the Brittany page, but the user in question was posting the same link to lots of articles where it was not relevant. He was almost certainly doing this because search engines like Google rank sites higher when they are linked to by popular sites like Wikipedia. You can see the details of his spam run here Special:Contributions/83.195.40.211. You can read more about the Wikipedia spam problem at WP:SPAM.
When an anonymous IP goes around posting the same link to multiple articles it is usually (though not always) an attempt to boost their search engine rankings. That said, a good set of external links often add value to an article and you shouldn't be afraid of adding links you think are worthy.
Feel free to leave me another message if you have further questions. --GraemeL (talk) 23:22, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

AfD nomination of List of Norwegians
editAn editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of Norwegians. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Norwegians. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:18, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
interview request
editHello, My name is Natalia Ioana Olaru and I am a final year master student in the Corporate Communication programme at the Aarhus School of Business, Aarhus University, Denmark. I am currently working on my final paper on the topic of user motivation to create content on collaborative media websites, the focus being Wikipedia. As a sample I chose the English and Danish portals. I would like to invite you for an online interview on the topic of what motivates you, to participate in editing and creating articles for this platform. I plan on doing the actual interviews in the period between 1st and the 15th of May via Skype, MSN or Yahoo Messenger. I am, however, open to other channels of communication too. Please let me know if you would like to participate in this interview and the preferred channel.
Thank you, Natalia Olaru Email: natalia.ioana.olaru@gmail.com MulgaEscu (talk) 14:12, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
Wiki-event Stiklestad, Norge 27 juli
editHello, I'm posting this to some norwegian wikipedians on en:wp. Please take a look at no: Wikipedia:Wikievent_Stiklestad_juli_2012.
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
