License tagging for Image:Ir-eco2.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Ir-eco2.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Hi

Thanks for the clean-up, looks good, but can you check my latest comment on Talk:Iran, I just want to make sure no valuable information in the history section was lost in the process. --Mardavich 10:06, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

USA map

Why did you change it from SVG to PNG? The SVG one looks fine. --Golbez 14:21, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Your comment makes no sense. When I reverted your edit, I thought maybe the image had been vandalized - but I can find no record of that. Your only complaint is it's red? That's it? Wow. --Golbez 00:55, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

No, the reason was explained here [1] on the USA history page when the update was made.

Hi

please be Polite, regarding your persistent personal attacks and accusations of stalking and making bizarre conspiracy theories linking this AfD to one of the UN resolutions (in lots of talk pages from that AfD to my talk page and even in Iran talk which is a blatant canvassing). I just wanted to ignore you but it seems you will not stop your attacks. I either have no connection to that Co or its rival or etc. And believe me; I have other burdens and tasks in real life and WP to put aside some time to watching your edits.

I found that article from two of the articles in my watch Tabriz and Zanjan from this edit [2] [3], then looking to the contributions of user:Femto, found this spams [4], [5], [6] [7] and then finally this [8], I read the first sentence of the article and it seemed to me as an spam and I put that template and it was quickly deleted. From that time, I put the article in my watch list and when you suddenly recreated it, I saw it and put the tag again.

And I already said to you what you should do to save that article. I hope you will show your good will and apologize and delete all the personal attacks.--Pejman47 20:09, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Pejman47, there is nothing I have to apologize for. If someone needs to apologize it is may be you, for giving missleading warnings and making dishonest statements. Please read what I have written. It was a genuine concern on my part because of your repeated actions. You just need to calm down and read my comments and question again, following your repeated deletion requests. (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Iran International Exhibitions Company).SSZ 21:48, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

For the rest I NEVER made ANY personal "attacks" and was ALWAYS polite with you. Please refer to its deletion talk page and respond there so everyone can see what you are telling me here. I have no intention to supress the evidence here, contrary to your request, sorry. Also, please refrain to stalk me or I will have to report you. SSZ 21:56, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Edit summaries

Hello, please, please use the edit summary when you make edits of ANY kind, (talk, user talk, and article space). It is a nice thing to do, yanno. :) When editing a page, a small "Summary" field under the main edit-box looks like this:

It is good practice to fill in the Edit Summary field, or add to it in the case of section editing, as it helps everyone to understand what is changed, such as when perusing the history of the page. It's a good idea to set your user preferences (under Edit) to "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary". - Jeeny Talk 21:50, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Current diplomatic tensions between Iran and the United States, by Sefringle (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Current diplomatic tensions between Iran and the United States fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Current diplomatic tensions between Iran and the United States, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 06:13, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Shah&Farah-Pahlavi.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Shah&Farah-Pahlavi.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:51, 20 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 15:51, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:37, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

With regard to your reversion of Economy of Iran

Both World Band and IMF put Iran at 18th in 2009. Visit the hyperlinked wiki page. CIA is quoting the Iranian government national poverty line which defines those earning less than 11 dollars per day as poor. That is not the standard by which the other developing countries pages on economy in wikipedia are categorized. Rather the UN measure of $2 per day is used. Please refer to these sources: http://www.undp.org.ir/index.php/millennium-development-goals/the-mdgs-in-iran http://www.brookings.edu/opinions/2008/0805_iran_salehi_isfahani.aspx#_ftn5 http://djavad.wordpress.com/2009/03/26/myths-about-irans-economy/ Thanks --119.153.7.63 (talk) 09:11, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:DizinIran.jpeg

Thanks for uploading File:DizinIran.jpeg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 01:12, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

Economy of Iran FAC

I regret to say that I'm opposing the article's promotion. If you have questions about my reasoning or would like help in resolving the article's issues, feel free to ask on my talk page. I don't believe, however, that the issues can be resolved within the time frame of a featured article candidacy. A. Parrot (talk) 02:58, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

The goal of Wikipedia is to write articles that give the reader—not the expert reader, but the casually interested one—a thorough and intuitive understanding of the subject. Doing that requires not just a list of facts, but an analysis of the fundamental characteristics of the subject. There is some of that in Economy of Iran, but after reading it I feel that there are many things that I only vaguely understand. I realize that the economy is constricted by government controls and the inefficiency of the bizarre bonyads. Yet I feel that I don't know enough about how the bonyads work or why they are so corrupt or how they interact with private companies. The details about that should of course go in the main bonyad article, but if the bonyads are as important as they seem, a basic understanding should be included in the main article.
Analyzing the fundamentals of a sprawling topic like this is hard. I know it's hard, because I spent 18 months beating Ancient Egyptian religion into shape and still wasn't satisfied with it. If you read that article, do you understand who could be a "member" of the Egyptian religion, how far it extended geographically, or why the Egyptians held so many seemingly contradictory beliefs? Only vaguely, I'm sure, because I couldn't collect sources that analyzed those things in detail. Perhaps that is your problem, too; I don't know. But even if not, finding those sources, inserting the relevant information into the article (and integrating them so that ideas flow logically, something that will likely require the restructuring of entire sections) will be a long, difficult process, one that I don't believe can fit into the time frame of an FAC. Orphaned non-free media (File:National Development Fund.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:National Development Fund.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:17, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
