Welcome!

Hello, SPFallon, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. on St Bede's College, Manchester. I think they were a bit problematic and I have removed almost all of your additions/modifications to the St Bede's page. In my view, and I may be wrong, your additions were not improvements on what was there. Rather they made the article sound over-promotional. This often happens with such articles when someone from "inside" the institution edits them. This is normally done when new editors are unaware of the norms here. I think it is the normal approach on Wikipedia for possible changes by people with a possible Wp:conflict of interest to raise such additions on the article′s talk page. I think you might wish to read about possible conflicts of interest and peacockery to get a feel for what is the norm on here. Feel free to get in touch or ask for help.

Here are a few links to other pages you might also find helpful as a new editor:

Hi. If you have a possible conflict of interest with editing the St Bede's article it would be best if you raise the changes you think ought to be made on the article's talk page. It might be that your changes are not viewed as useful as you think. The articles on here which are deemed good often take a longer historical perspective on institutions than many of those working at them would like. The lead of the article is particularly important and I am not sure why the current head should be so prominent in the lead. Also I think the fact that the College for many years produced priest is important enough for the lead. You might wish to self revert and raise any additions you want on the article's talk page. (You previous additions - that I removed - have been flagged up as potential copyvio from http://www.hmc.org.uk/schools/st-bedes-college/ by Mr Stephen. Please have a think about this advice. I am just an experienced editor. Best wishes (Msrasnw (talk) 10:04, 8 June 2016 (UTC))Reply
