Pioche Shale - also occurs in's Utah House Range

- Huge trilobite fauna, both Olenellid (lower cambrian) and Ptychopariids (middle cambrian)

- Probably should be called Pioche Formation, or at least have synonym

Bisphenol A page is quite biased. Genistein page is even more biased, particularly in not noting putative developmental adverse effects, even some that might cause multi-generational imprinting. Thus the page could be interpreted as giving bad medical advice to the unwary.

spam? edit

Hi SNP- you seem knowledgable about what is and is not spam - would you count [this] as spam? The IP user added 5 at the same time, I removed one and gave them a note about it, but I didn't really feel bold enough to remove it from pages I was not watching. Thanks for your help/advice. Cheers Geologyguy 00:39, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello Geologyguy. Yes I would. I’m not so knowledgeable, but I’m getting a little bolder. I’ve watched how user:Vsmith and user:DanielCD watch over some pages in my areas of interest – when in doubt, I suggest asking them. If you mess up, it will probably get fixed anyway. I’m usually researching and working on a project for WP with my minimal available time, but it is irritating to see the spam and sabotage. Fortunately, there are many dedicated people who fix things. What I’ve learned is, if users only add links, and not content, it usually gets reverted pretty quick. SNP 01:11, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
P.S. Geologyguy: I see you are a geologist, whereas I'm more comfortable with evolution and phygenetics. I'm researching the House Range in Utah where I hunted fossils when much younger. Maybe we can collaborate on this. Montana's not too far away. SNP 01:18, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks - indeed, I too watch and try to emulate Vsmith and DanielCD. Researching the House Range for Wikipedia, or for your own research? Cheers Geologyguy 01:43, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, yes, for WP. But I am slow and thorough.

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
