Subscribing a non-user talkpage to the GOCE newsletter

Interesting question for you: If I wanted to subscribe a "Wikipedia talk:" page for delivery of the Guild of Copy Editors newsletter, how would I go about doing it? The reason being, I'd like to subscribe the WikiProject Report's talk page to all active WikiProject newsletters. Mabeenot 19:14, 30 October 2011‎

I'm not sure how this can be done easily. I send them out manually using AWB, so I guess I could add you in if you like. --SMasters (talk) 00:32, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

FAC review request

Hi, I'd like to request that you take a look at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/2010 Nobel Peace Prize/archive3‎. The nomination doesn't seem to be attracting much interest for reasons I cannot fathom. Maybe the prose sucks. Anyway, as I'd ideally like to put it up for TFA soon, I'd appreciate it if you could have a look and perhaps comment as to its meeting FAC or not. Cheers, --Ohconfucius ¡digame! 01:50, 2 November 2011 (UTC)

SP

Usual culprits are late, I am of the mind of leaving publication until about 12:00 UTC tomorrow, so that I have a few hours in the morning to write up something proper, but if you feel there's enough of substance there before that please feel free to publish when you like. I'd like for us to talk over IRC sometime soon, as there is a lot to discuss; could you shoot me an email when it's convenient? Cheers, Skomorokh 22:20, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

OK< I'll see where we are up to. And yes, will be in touch – we definitely need to talk soon. Cheers. --SMasters (talk) 00:33, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
Drop me a line when you can (and if you could look over the SP gmail account to make sure I don't forget about things that would help too). Cheers, Skomorokh 16:41, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
Another thing (doesn't that fill you with dread? "the reward for a job done well on Wikipedia is three more jobs"!), I'm doing some hunting on a major story for next week, but if you get a chance could you take a look at the critical comments on last week's edition and give The Official Response From The Managing Editors? We've come in for a bit of stick, and there may need to be misinterpretations corrected/clarifications to stories made etc.. Solidarity, Skomorokh 19:04, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
OK, I'll email you soon. There are some things that we have lost control over, especially since things are late. We just don't have the time to read every single word before publication, and this is also not helping. --SMasters (talk) 00:06, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
We're looking good deadline-wise this week and I should be able to handle review and publication. Skomorokh 18:06, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

Unfortunately I haven't been able to finish ITN in time. If you get a chance to, and to review the other reports, please feel free to go ahead and publish. Otherwise I will be back to review and publish before tomorrow noon. Cheers, Skomorokh 22:08, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, I have a bit of a work crisis and I've suddenly got tons on my plate. I haven't' had the time to look at the comments or to help with publication. Tomorrow should be the same, and it will only wind down by Wednesday, my time. I can do publication then if it's still not done. Sorry once again for the short notice – it was completely unexpected. --SMasters (talk) 06:14, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

Blank out

Hi SMaster, I’m student at CSI and I’m working on Wikipedia for my class COM232. My professor asks me to write you an email discussing my situation about a blank out page that happen on the person I’m writing about. A Wikipedia user removes all my work which was stated upon the person (the person I’m working on) request. Here is my diff:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Paula_Scher&action=historysubmit&diff=458320710&oldid=456527523

May you please help me?

Thank you. Anonymous0123 (talk) 01:01, 4 November 2011 (UTC)

The editor that blanked this out should not have done this. I would even go as far as calling it vandalism. You can restore all your work from the diffs. I am now watching the article, and will revert any unreasonable changes. In addition, one of the editor's edit summary says, "Edits made at Paula Scher's request", which suggests that the editor knows the writer personally, and this presents a huge WP:COI. The editor should explain or refrain from editing this article. Let me know if you have any more troubles. Cheers. --SMasters (talk) 02:27, 4 November 2011 (UTC)

WP Television interview

Just a friendly reminder that the WP Television interview is scheduled to run in a week and a half. I know you've got a lot on your plate with publishing the Signpost, so let me know if you need some help or just want to reschedule. -Mabeenot (talk) 02:55, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the reminder. I've been swamped with work in RL, more than anything else. Can you help me reschedule it to a later date? If I could do a swap with you on any of the two following articles, that would be great. Thanks! --SMasters (talk) 05:39, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
No problem. I'll take care of it. -Mabeenot (talk) 18:46, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

Newsletter draft is ready

Hi, SMasters, I hope you are well. I have started the mid-drive newsletter and placed it here for your review and copy editing pleasure, if you have a minute. Thanks. --Dianna (talk) 01:24, 15 November 2011 (UTC)

Hi again. I noticed you have not edited for a few days, but I was hoping you could send out the newsletter using AWB when you have time. Please let me know. Thanks! --Dianna (talk) 04:44, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
Sorry for the late reply. A bit swamped at work. I'll get it out in a day or two. Cheers. --SMasters (talk) 05:10, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
That would be perfect. Thank you! --Dianna (talk) 19:36, 16 November 2011 (UTC)

GOCE drive newsletter

Guild of Copy Editors November 2011 backlog elimination drive update

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors November 2011 Backlog elimination drive! Here's the mid-drive newsletter.

Participation: We have had 46 people sign up for this drive so far, and 28 have copy edited at least one article. If you have signed up but have not yet copy edited any articles, please consider doing so. Every bit helps! If you haven't joined, it's not too late. Join us!

Progress report: We are making great progress in our goal of clearing out the oldest articles (April, May, and June 2010) from the queue. There are 122 articles left in those categories, which compares very favorably with the 281 that were present at the close of the September drive. We have reduced the 2010 backlog by 184 articles so far.

Coordinator elections: The term of our second tranche of coordinators will be running out at the end of the year, and we will be accepting nominations for new coordinators early in December. The election will likely run in the last two weeks of December. Please consider helping out by nominating yourself or someone else in the Guild as one of our coordinators. The commitment is for a six-month term. Thanks.

Your drive coordinators – Diannaa, Chaosdruid, The Utahraptor, Slon02 and SMasters

Hey, can you check your email? We need to get on top of things. Regards, Skomorokh 14:44, 16 November 2011 (UTC)

OK will do. Completely overloaded with work at the moment as we are short-staffed. Will reply to you on the weekend. Cheers. --SMasters (talk) 07:07, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Published the issue, all clear until next week in theory but it's critical that you get in touch, we need to resolve matters. Mahalo, Skomorokh 00:45, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
