{{helpme}}

I've been trying to add an image to the W. Brett Wilson page but have ran into a lot of problems! The image was taken with Brett's camera himself and there is no copyright on the image at all. He is willing to release it into the public domain - whatever needs to be done to get the picture up!

I'm pretty sure I've uploaded the picture like 5 times by now...I'm quite lost. :(

I don't see any image uploads in your contributions history. Were you uploading by clicking the 'upload image' button to the left? See also Help:Images. // roux   editor review18:03, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I uploaded it to the Wikipedia page as well as in Commons...

Any suggestions on where to go with the copyright issue if the picture was taken by ourselves personally?

You need to fill in the information on the copyright status. If you took the image yourself, that needs to be noted on the image page. You did add the image to the page--sometimes they don't show up immediately due to lag between servers. I've re-added it. I'd also like to ask you to use informative edit summaries when you edit articles--it lets people know what you're doing.
On an unrelated note, if you do know him, let him know he has a fan! // roux   editor review18:33, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! I hope I did it right...

I will definitely let him know! We do his PR and publicity. :)

...oh dear. Please be very, very careful with your edits then. Please read our policy on conflict of interest. The short version: you are not forbidden from editing his article, but you are strongly encouraged not to. You are interested in promoting him, and will--this is not a value judgement on you--likely glide over anything negative. We are here to build an encyclopedia, which means we must adhere rigidly to a neutral point of view on all articles. // roux   editor review18:48, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

For sure, got it. I was in charge of getting the basic page up, but will try and refrain from editing it as much as possible from now on. Brett was recently named the Business Person of the Year from Alberta Venture Magazine (see here - http://www.albertaventure.com/?p=2860). Is it appropriate for me to add something like that?
