Managing a conflict of interest edit

Hello, SDMACO86hartpury. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Hartpury College, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 09:23, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for this. I do not believe any updates or requests I have made with this account and to this page have been anything other than 100% factual, with citations provided where relevant. The only element of this page which is not factual/correct is the page title, and you will see I have made a request to move/retitle the page accordingly, where I also include disclosure of my role as part of the organisation in question. I would appreciate advice on how we proceed, either by moving/altering the page title, or creating a standalone page for the university. Thank you. Hi, thanks for your response. Have you read the conflict of interest guidance? It says "you are strongly discouraged from editing affected articles directly". Please also see WP:DISCLOSE. I cannot help with the title, but you have raised this on the Talk page already so other editors may respond. Tacyarg (talk) 17:01, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I assume strongly discouraged does not mean banned? As I say, everything I have modified has been factual, which I assume is acceptable, given the entries have not been removed. I'll await a response on the talk page. Again, as I say, this is the only item on the page that is currently factually incorrect. SDMACO86hartpury (talk) 19:14, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
