Michael Murphy

edit

I undid the edit you made to Michael Murphy but I wanted to explain why. I think the edit you made probably represents the truth of the event. The problem is that I have a couple of concerns with the video itself. The video has clearly been modified from its original and thus it represents a montage and not a historical representation of the events. And it could be argued that it isn't really his and could possibly be that of another SEAL or a combination of funerals to be more dramatic. Also, youtube videos are typically not considered to be a good reference, for a variety of reasons and the original reference is a respected newspaper and is considered to be a good reference. If you feel this is in error please leave a message on the talk page. Michael's father frequently reviews comments left there and may be interested to make a comment. Please let me know if you have any questions. --Kumioko (talk) 01:04, 2 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Kumioko,

While I appreciate your obviously spending so much time working within Wikipedia, may I suggest that you need to be more careful about your work. Before you so quickly undid the correction, did you bother to spend any time in research? I had spent more than two hours crosschecking and verifying my data, including through Snopes, a search regarding SEALBrotherhood on the Net, and FactCheck.

His name is Michael "Mikey" Monsoor, not Michael Murphy.

The video of the service is submitted by SEALBrotherhood; did you bother to check their background? Do you think they had access to video of the actual service? Do you think that they are going to submit something false? Of course the video is edited for length. It is obviously laboriously produced as a fitting tribute to Mikey.

I have no idea how "Talk" is supposed to work, or if you will even see this - but my correction was accurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.226.39.190 (talk) 00:07, 5 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

First I want to say that I apologize that I mixed up the names and your right it is Michael Monsoor not Murphy. I understand and appreciate your efforts and I suggest making a comment on the talk page. Once your done let me knwow and I will ask other editors for their input on the matter and well go from there. --Kumioko (talk) 02:12, 5 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
