Username

Please read WP:U for policies on usernames. Your username is not acceptable, it implies an organization rather than an individual. You can request your name be changed to something more acceptable, but having an account which suggests representing an organization, or is available to multiple individuals at an organization, is not permitted on Wikipedia. At the bottom of the WP:U page, there is a section "Changing your username". Basically, go to WP:Changing_username, which has details. You'll end up going to WP:Changing_username/Simple and clicking on the link in #5 to add a request with an explanation. It usually takes less than a day for an administrator to notice and grant the change. Regards, Tarl N. (discuss) 21:21, 10 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi NihonJoe and Tarl N

I'm not actually clear what you want me to do. I submitted a name that is more generic - the initials of my birthname followed by 'biz' because I am a business journalist.

To be clear, I don't want to edit the Wiki or do any editing - I just want to point out to the authors of a wiki about the largest banks that my company has published a new version of the document that is the source in the current wiki. I have tried to be 100% transparent. I am just offering this to the editors/authors of the wiki because it's up to date and it's authoritative and the current information in the wiki is out of date. Up to them if they want to use it.

I'd suggest you try again with a different name. What @Nihonjoe: probably triggered on is that your selected name of SBMbiz carries the appearance of an account to be used by a business (rather than by an individual). That's a perennial problem our admins face, so are hyper-vigilant on the subject. Tarl N. (discuss) 01:35, 29 May 2023 (UTC)
