Speedy deletion of Timothy Basil Ering

edit

A tag has been placed on Timothy Basil Ering requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. --Michael WhiteT·C 19:02, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sarah Price

edit

Please don't tell me I can't decline speedy taggings, especially when the tagging is inappropriate. Certainly please don't edit-war with me to re-add said tag. Ten seconds of factchecking would have shown you that Price is a major award winner (even had you not bothered to spend the ten seconds on Google it would have taken to see that she's a Sundance winner, the fact that she's the director of two films which themselves have their own articles should have been a clue). Our deletion processes are not "keep tagging until the admin gets bored reverting and deletes it". If you want it deleted, take it to AFD. – iridescent 20:43, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of List of animals from "After Man: A Zoology of the Future"

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article List of animals from "After Man: A Zoology of the Future", suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Fiction; an original essay that does not meet the guidelines for inclusion.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. §FreeRangeFrog 01:13, 27 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Megumi Kanda

edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Megumi Kanda. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Megumi Kanda. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Wetfloor.png

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Wetfloor.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:31, 23 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 06:31, 23 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Misuse of the "minor edit" tag

edit

Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Wikipedia:Ignore all rules, as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. —David Levy 23:32, 24 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Stubbing

edit

Please don't waste people's time by adding {{stub}} to an article such as Future which is not a stub. This is disruptive behaviour. PamD (talk) 08:31, 11 June 2010 (UTC) As mentioned in this essay, the important factor in deciding whether something is a stub depends on the subject matter. It is definitely a stub relative to the enormity of the topic, which is what is important when marking stubs. Sithman VIII !! 18:29, 11 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Josepla.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Josepla.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Thank you for uploading File:Measuring cup1.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Image Screening Bot (talk) 20:12, 15 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi,

The reason I replaced the ref name tags was that they went to the same url. They're raw below:

The only difference is one pops to a subheading, but I don't think that's sufficiently important to have multiple references to the same webpage. They are references 11 and 57 in the version you reverted to. Natch, I'd like to replace the single citation. Thanks, WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 00:59, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oops, reviewing my edit a bit closer, I realize how it looks like I removed a citation. If you look at the two uses of 57, it was used to reference two sentences in a row:

The FDA stated that they did not take these regulatory actions against compounded bioidentical hormones in response to Wyeth's request, as that is not the purpose of a citizen petition.[57] They said that they had an ongoing investigation when they received the petition.[57]

My edit replaced the <ref name = tag to match 11 (i.e. only one citation to the FDA Q&A page on the BHRT page) and only one citation for both sentences. I don't think it's necessary to have both when there are sourcing two sentences in sequence. WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 01:09, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Note that based on this, I've undone. WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 23:13, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Knorklogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Proposed deletion of Asymmetric board

edit

The article Asymmetric board has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unable to find any sources establishing notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
