Speedy deletion nomination of Culturetease

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Culturetease requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. My76Strat 03:22, 19 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Culture Tease

edit

Hi. I noticed your many additions of ratings from culturetease.com to album articles, and you may be wondering why I and some other editors have reverted them. Culture Tease is not listed at WP:ALBUMS/REVSITE, a list compiled by consensus amongst WikiProject Albums members of acceptable review sites. As you can probably imagine, there are hundreds of websites out there that offer reviews of albums, films, video games, etc., and new ones pop up constantly. Since anyone can create such a website and self-publish it, the vast majority of these sites are not considered reliable sources by Wikipedia's standards. In order for a review site to be considered reliable and merit inclusion on the REVSITE list, it must have been around long enough to have built a sufficient reputation for itself in the world of criticism (usually this is evidenced by other reliable third-party sources having commented on the website itself and its coverage or content). Wikipedia is not a vehicle for promoting a new website, so oftentimes when an editor such as yourself is spotted adding links to the same website across dozens of articles, it is a red flag for spam and the edits are reverted. If you believe that Culture Tease is a reliable source and should be added to the REVSITE, please raise the issue at WT:ALBUMS so project members may offer their input. --IllaZilla (talk) 17:44, 17 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

I just noticed that your early contributions were creating an article about the website, which were deleted. Based on that and on your username, I suspect that you are probably Ryan from Culture Tease. If that is the case, then I would like to point out Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines. Creating articles about businesses, organizations, or websites that you are directly involved with, or adding links to such things to numerous Wikipedia articles, is stronly discouraged. Further, the fact that an article about Culture Tease was deleted is an indicator that the site is probably (A) not notable by encyclopedic standards, and (B) not reliable by Wikipedia's standards. Your edits give a strong impression that you are using Wikipedia as a vehicle to promote your website, which is aagainst Wikipedia's policy on promotion. --IllaZilla (talk) 18:06, 17 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

October 2012

edit

Please refrain from making these edits to articles, as you did to Relapse (Eminem album). Per WP:ALBUMS/CRITICAL, reviews must be chosen from professional, notable sources, not blogs or any self-published sources, which can be written by just about anyone. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Dan56 (talk) 23:22, 9 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
