Editing habits

edit

So there are a couple of editing habits that need to get changed.

  1. Please remember to sign all of your posts with 4 tildes like this (~~~~)
  2. Your signature has to change, can I suggest this TheBestGuyHi 20:56, 6 August 2011 (UTC) . Copy this code [[User:TheBestGuyHi|TheBest]][[User talk:TheBestGuyHi|GuyHi]] into the sig section of your preferences and check the box saying treat the above as wiki markup. Some other things I've seen

edit

I have noticed a couple other things with your editing habits which I would like to address. You added a cleanup tag to Pacific Highway (Australia) without adding any reasons. It does no good to tag a page without giving editors a way to solve the problem. There are three ways to do this. One is to add the cleanup template and address any issues you have on the talk page of the article. Another is to use a parameter like this: {{cleanup}} which looks like

This brings me to the third solution, which is to use a more specific cleanup template. Rather than stating that the article has to be cleaned up you can use a cleanup template like {{Capitalization}} which says

See Category:Cleanup templates for a complete list.

Another thing I have noticed is that you have a lot of edits to talk pages, user talk pages, and project space. This is great because it shows that you have made a commitment to collaboration. I would like to see you be bold and make some changes to some articles yourself. One requirement on Wikipedia is that all biographies of living persons have at least one reference. My challenge to you is to try to reference at least one BLP. Follow this link to find a random BLP to reference. If you are unable to find a reference for the article, consider placing {{subst:Prod blp}} to the article. If you do this, remember to add {{ProdwarningBLP}} to the talk page of the author of the article. Ryan Vesey Review me! 00:39, 9 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

New signature problems

edit

Your current signature does not follow the guidelines at Wikipedia:Signatures. It includes a link to someone else's userpage and it is too long and distracting. In addition, the link is unnecessary since any editor can go to their own page by clicking the tab at the top of their page. On a side note, have you read the lesson and are you ready to take the test? Ryan Vesey Review me! 23:12, 8 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

oops sorry I haven't read all the policys and guidelines yet and I added that bit manually so I shouldn't of. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheBestGuyHi (talkcontribs) 21:20, 19 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup template with reason parameter

edit

I noticed that you used {{Cleanup}} with a reason parameter. Good job on giving a reason. I do have one thing to point out though. You substituted the template, but it shouldn't have been substituted. We will cover more of that in the template lesson and it isn't a terrible problem.
