Sorry I had to step away from my computer for a moment, but I'm back! Its shaping up quite nicely for a new article. I'm not familiar with the DYK criteria but yours has not met DYK's first criterion (it must be 5 days old, see here for more details). That's not a big deal though and five days usually flies by pretty fast. Of course, fix those verification needed tags as well ;). DYK articles

I helped on Yao Ming, which is still GAC. I haven't created any though. I am working on some of the articles here, which I'm sure could make DYK, and in the future GA, but I can't find many websites that talk about those subjects (but that's why Wikipedia is here). Baseball uniform

I'd say it looks pretty decent so far, but I think a modern-day uniform of a famous player such as Barry Bonds would greatly improve the quality. I'm greatly suprised that this article wasn't created before. Another article that I'm gratly suprised wasn't created before myself is Tourism in Kenya, which is currently at DYK? Then again, there is a huge bias amoung editors to not cover such important issues in developing countries such as Africa. I will have to someday fill in all the "Tourism in... places", and right now Tourism in the United States (who would've thought) is so much of a mess that I had to stubbify it. If you want to see some of my DYK?s, they are at User:Editorofthewiki/Awards. I guess it really isn't fair to have called you a newbie, since I have been registered only a month before you, but I have been editing since 2006.

Also, could you help me with User:Otolemur crassicaudatus over a relatively minor style issue on Zimbabwe Open University and escalated into him calling me a troll at the AN/I discussion. I have opened a mediation cabal discussion at Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2008-05-04 Zimbabwe Open University, though it does not yet have a mediator. No, but I bet many on that page are per nom. And things like "Adopt five users" or "Welcome 1000 users", is just bad. Like I said, its about quality of contribtions, it's not about how many edits you have, how many people you have welcomed, or the amount of people you have had blocked. That's why I'm tempted to MFD it, I feel it has the wrong idea, emphasises that it's important to have a billion edits, and I feel, gives the wrong idea. Steve, I suggest you view the Award Center talk page. Trust me when I say this: it was much, much worse just a few weeks ago. AWC has cleaned up much since then, dropping such ridiculous challenges as "Adopt 200 Users" and "The Deletionist Challenge". As for the Welcoming Challenge, I argue that welcoming new users is an important task, as nowadays a new user can just jump into editing feet first and end up brushing up against the wiki-bureaucracy (and trust me, I wish it were like the old days when IP accounts were mildly respected). Regarding Editor Review

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, but I've been offline for several days after my silly DSL modem got fried from a close lightning strike.

I think the best advice I could give you is to have patience. Slow down, learn what you're doing before you do it and stop being so focused on getting somewhere (like to adminship or a high edit count). If you don't do things correctly, its not going to matter that you did a lot of them. I think what's most frustrating for other editors is because of your focus on speed, if you get something wrong, you do it wrong a lot of times before someone can get over and explain to you that you're making a mistake. Keep up the good work with your adopter, don't be afraid to ask questions and give yourself a chance to learn your surroundings. Congrats on the DYK too! Shell ^babelfish 04:43, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Well, all-of-a-sudden-like... I've got to get offline now. But all you need to do is go to WP:UPLOAD, click one of the truthful links, and skip down to the point where it usually says "uploading the file". You've got to have the image on your computer. You decide how you want to 'give' it to the world (to be used anywhere without your mention, used w/o permission but with credit, or used only for one article). I have redirected your article about the north campus of the college to the main article on the college. There are at best three sentences in that entire article you created that are not rephrasings of the history section of the other article. Please take a look at WT:RFA#Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Dell970, and my comment under the "Discussion" section of the RFA itself (which I added after it closed). I think allegations of racist slurs have a very credible explanation. Since the RFA is kept forever, I wonder if you would consider going back to the closed RFA, and strike any portion of your comments relating to the racist slurs? Hi, thanks for offering to mentor me. As you can see from my talk page, I've been around a bit longer than you, although less active and with fewer contributions. My main reason for requesting mentorship is to find someone who can help me going from "changes that don't get reverted" to "Reliably able to make articles GA." I, too, wouldn't mind being an administrator someday, but it's not a pressing goal of mine. I do want to better understand the nuances of the bureaucracy and such.
