May 2009 edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Vedas. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Abecedare (talk) 16:35, 8 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Legal threat edit

Per our policy, stating that you will "invite prosecution" upon the modification of an image is a blockable sanction, in which your editing privileges can be indefinitely revoked. The offending text can be found at File:Aryavarta wiki.jpg. It is highly suggested that you revoke those comments, and respond at WP:ANI#Threat to prosecute if an image is modified. seicer | talk | contribs 16:38, 17 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

The image is watermarked, and our guidelines at WP:IUP say "user-created images should not be watermarked, distorted, have any credits in the image itself or anything else that would hamper their free use". It is also original research - see WP:OR and I've already removed it from an article (after you reinstated it after another editor removed it). Dougweller (talk) 16:44, 17 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Do not delete edit

File:Name.ext listed for deletion edit

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, File:Name.ext, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. RussellSpence (talk) 16:55, 17 July 2009 (UTC) The modification clause was removed based on advice from other members. However, this is not original research. In fact this is based on the latest genetics research of SE Asian population and human migrations, as well as latest research on the Indus Script. All these topics are well discussed and settled in Wikipedia itself. Please do not delete this.Reply

The legal threat is still there, and by adding the copywright watermark you've breached our Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License. Dougweller (talk) 17:24, 17 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
It's very simple; anything you contribute to Wikipedia must be released under the terms of the Creative Commons ShareAlike license and the GNU Free Documentation License. In a nutshell, this means that you release your contributions to be used by anyone for any reason with any modification they like, so long as they credit you as the author of the original. You may not wish to release your research, maps, or what have you, if you are uncomfortable with these conditions. Thatcher 01:57, 18 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

File:Av wiki.jpg edit

WP:OR and WP:RS as well as WP:Verify apply to images as well as text. Since we cannot use Wikipedia articles as sources for other Wikipedia articles, we clearly cannot use them for images. Captions also need to pass the same criteria. Images should generally reflect what has been said in articles in any case. I've therefore reverted all your additions of this image and am asking you not to replace it. I've started a discussion on the No Original Research Notice Board here: [1]. Dougweller (talk) 17:16, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

this is just a reupload of File:Aryavarta wiki.jpg deleted earlier. You are now clearly behaving disruptively. I will speedy the image, and I can assure you that your account will be blocked from editing if this sort of prancing around should continue. --dab () 22:15, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I see you put the image back. It, and the caption you are using, clearly cannot be verified as you give no sources, so it fails WP:Verify Dougweller (talk) 19:02, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

you keep uploading an image that has been duly deleted in spite of being told not to do that. I am blocking your account for 24h. After the block expires, feel free to try WP:DRV, or just seek WP:CONSENSUS for your edits. If you continue with your unilateral reverts, you will be blocked for longer periods, or indefinitely. --dab () 20:36, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

July 2009 edit

Please do not attack other editors, which you did here: WP:No original research/Noticeboard. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Dougweller (talk) 05:44, 27 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Repost of File:Av wiki.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Av wiki.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. Thank you. Van helsing (talk) 12:07, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

since you are clearly not interested in collaboration, I have blocked your account again, this time for 72 hours. After this block expires, consider yourself on your last chance to revise your approach and begin respecting that this project has rules. --dab (𒁳) 14:01, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Change block to permanent edit

Re your "latest research"[2], you are placing off-wiki calls to vandalize wikipedia. I hope it is clear to you that you cannot do that and keep editing Wikipedia as an editor in good standing at the same time. --dab (𒁳) 07:41, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
