Olbermann edits

edit

I know your just carrying water for Ann Coulter, but Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is part of Cornell University, just like Ann's Cornell University College of Arts and Sciences. Please watch this in which Olbermann shows his Cornell University diploma. --Bobblehead (rants) 02:51, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

You know nothing about me, so watch your tone. I know, on the other hand, that you're carrying water for liberal myth-making in any form with complete disregard for truth and honesty. I won't rehash what TommyLotto has already explained a thousand times, but suffice to say Olbermann's degree is not from Cornell University. Sorry. And because it is a lie, one intended to mislead the public about his education, I will continue to edit it as I see fit. Cheers.--Russcote (talk) 02:57, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Violating the three revert rule, ignoring WP:CONSENSUS, and stating that you will continue to revert to make a point will most certainly result in your being blocked. Wikipedia lists the University that confers the degree, not the individual College. Please try to understand the University system. //Blaxthos ( t / c ) 12:17, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Edit-warring

edit

Just to clarify your comment on the lock of the Keith Olbermann page, you should have a look at Wikipedia:Edit war and Wikipedia:Three-revert rule. Edit warring is frowned upon. The three-revert rule is an absolute. You should not repeatedly re-insert material into an article - if someone reverts your edit, you should resolve the difference on the article's talk page. If you revert a page more than three times in 24 hours, you will be blocked from editing. Even edits that fall short of this may result in blocks. Just to bring you up to speed on "the rules". Guettarda (talk) 03:40, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I "reverted", according to the rules, once. Every other time I went in and changed something that someone else changed on me. I can't say for sure, but I think I was the first to include CALS in the profile. All I did thereafter was put it back in after someone else took it out. See the discussion page. Not including this can only be described as misleading or false. There is simply no other way to look at it. So all I can take from this is that I'm being threatened with a banning because of rank politics. Terrible.--Russcote (talk) 03:50, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry if this came across wrong. I was not threatening you, but rather trying to bring you up to speed on our policies.
You added "College of Agriculture and Life Sciences" to "Cornell University":
  1. in this pair of edits
  2. here
  3. here, and
  4. here
All of these count as reverts, since you were reverting to this version. So you did violate the three-revert rule.
You wrote: All I did thereafter was put it back in after someone else took it out. And that's what a revert is. I realised that you didn't appear to be familiar with these rules, which is why I provided links to Wikipedia:Edit war and Wikipedia:Three-revert rule. I would strongly recommend that you read those pages. Guettarda (talk) 04:26, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please do not attack other editors. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. /Blaxthos ( t / c ) 12:14, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Are you talking to me? Read the talk pages first before you decide who's doing the attacking. I'm being attacked for editing. It's painfully obvious that my revisions were politically motivated and that the "reverters", not I, are guilty of violating the rules. And who are you anyway to threaten me like that? Watch your tone or I'll have to block you from editing Wikipedia. --Russcote (talk) 04:38, 8 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

And read the block rules before you start threatening people. "Blocks are intended to reduce the likelihood of future problems, by either removing, or encouraging change in, a source of disruption. They are not intended for use in retaliation, as punishment, or where there is no current conduct issue which is of concern." I have never caused a problem here. I source everything I write. It's not my fault if people alter my edits for political reasons. Take your issues up with them. --Russcote (talk) 04:40, 8 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
