The Big Five (band) edit

AfD Nomination: The Big Five (band) edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that The Big Five (band) meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Big Five (band). Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last seven days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. olderwiser 22:22, 18 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Fix8 Logo RGB small.png) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Fix8 Logo RGB small.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:39, 13 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Jeff edit

We try to avoid name calling on Wiki (it's actually not a very nice thing to do anywhere!!). Jeff DOES revert a lot of stuff on the Baha'i Faith article, but 90% (at least) of what he reverts is the plainest of vandalism. While "inveterate reverter" is far from the worst thing you could have called him it is both unkind and unjust, and I don't think, on reflection that you will be especially proud of it. If it were me (as it might well have been) I hope I'd act like a grown up person and apologise to him.

About the picture - as I said in my edit summary it is a lovely picture, but in the form and place where you inserted it it DID look rather untidy, and I can see what Jeff was getting at. Just cutting the size down a bit, moving it down the page a little, and perhaps putting it on the other side of the page just might make all the difference? Remember this is an encyclopedia, and while pictures ARE very useful the main thing is the text. Bring it up on talk perhaps. I am always very reluctant to re-revert a good faith reversion by an obviously responsible editor without raising things on the talk page. --Soundofmusicals (talk) 13:37, 9 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

I don't think my comments were impolite or an example of name calling. It wasn't unkind or unjust - actually it was a pretty accurate observation. I could also argue that Jeff's comments on his reversion were also unkind and unjust. To just revert an edit and write "too many pictures" is hardly opening up for discussion and certainly not a "good faith reversion". I find your remarks pretty patronising as well - in particular the "grown up person" reference and reminds me of why I don't participate in wiki much any more since it always leads to petty bickering like this. I'd like to suggest there is a lot more of the universe to write about. Consider C grade top importance articles, or the missing countries in any of the continental areas like Bahá'í Faith in South America. --Smkolins (talk) 15:54, 10 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
