Copy and pasting edit

Please do not copy and past from bebo. Band articles needs to stand up to stringent criteria for notability. Theresa Knott | The otter sank 18:57, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

In that case you have a clear conflict of interest and are trying to use wikipedia to advertise. Theresa Knott | The otter sank 18:59, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

You cannot write about yourself on Wikipedia! Whether you link to bebo or not, you still have a conflict of interest. If you are famous enough to merit an article someone else will write about you eventually. But if you are wrining a blurb about yourself then you are attempting to use Wikipedia to self promote. Oh I see, I misinterpreted what you were saying. I will undelete but the article will need to be completely rewritten in an encylopedic style and if you don't state why he merits an article then it will quickly be deleted anyway. We have some policies on notability, I'll look them up for you. Theresa Knott | The otter sank

Surkin edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Surkin, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.institubes.com/catalog/ins12018. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 19:10, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

What on Earth? I suppose you wrote this one too? Theresa Knott | The otter sank 19:13, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Notability of Surkin edit

A tag has been placed on Surkin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ecoleetage (talk) 19:14, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

July 2008 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Surkin, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 19:17, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
