Iraq War lead

Sorry if I don't understand, but in the article Iraq War, you placed a template that said that the article lead was too long for its length. It seemed okay to me. The article was pretty long compared to its lead. Rubinkumar (talk) 22:30, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Lead_section#Length recommends at most 4 paragraphs in the lede; Iraq War currently has 9. In my opinion it should have about half the number of words it currently does, in order to be a comfortable overview of the topic. -- Beland (talk) 19:41, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

AIV report

You reported someone to the vandalism board who made one single edit--on 10 December. Please don't clog up the boards with such reports; that's just a waste of time. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 00:28, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Vandalism-high-risk

A tag has been placed on Template:Vandalism-high-risk requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an unambiguous misrepresentation of established policy.

Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Bulwersator (talk) 07:52, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Rubinkumar

Hello Rubinkumar. I noticed you, or another editor created a Requests for Adminship page under your name, and I was wondering as to what the status of that request might be. Please note that new users are rarely successful at RfA and that the Wikipedia editing community sets an extremely high bar for potential administrator candidates. That being said, I strongly urge you to read Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship, Wikipedia:Adminship is not for new users, and Wikipedia:Not now, and ask you to reconsider whether you really do wish to go through with your candidacy; please understand that you stand very little to no chance of passing RfA at this point and that you are strongly discouraged from running for adminship. If you are still intent on running for adminship with that request and are absolutely positive this is what you want, please do let me know; otherwise, I'll go ahead and delete the RfA page for you in about a week or so from today. User talk:Hawkbotsrock

I have removed your warning from this user's talk page, as his username is not in violation of WP:USERNAME. While "bot" is in the username, it is clearly not to impersonate a Wikipedia bot. Had the username have been "Hawkbot," it would be a violation, however. Eagles 24/7 (C) 04:33, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

Rollback

You've now been declined for rollback four times on-wiki and at least twice on IRC. Please do not request it again until you have addressed the concerns raised, or I will have to initiate a discussion regarding your behavior. Eagles 24/7 (C) 22:04, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

"After you have spent some time (50-200 edits) reverting blatant vandalism, you can request it again," "not enough evidence of reverting vandalism," "lack of experience," User_talk:Salvio_giuliano#My_Rollback, etc. If you do not know what "lack of experience" fighting vandalism means, you probably should not be requesting rollback. Eagles 24/7 (C) 22:20, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
You say you have about 125 edits with Twinkle, which is great, but I don't see any vandalism reverts. You have over 100 edits reverting vandalism? Please point me to five of them, because I can only find one or two in your entire editing history. I see a lot of warning vandals, but the warnings come much later after the vandalism has ceased. If you know how to "use hundreds of templates," why did you incorrectly tag Ojas with {{lead too long}} three days ago ([1])? So yes, you do not have enough experience and your exaggeration of your editing history is not appreciated. Eagles 24/7 (C) 23:01, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

I would now strongly recommend you comment at that section - with no comment as to the merits of the original complaint, I have just blocked another account as your sockpuppet, and am considering issuing a one-week block on this account for the same reason. Specifically, you are blocked for creating a WP:SOCK account to try and influence discussion about your edits. There is also a general concern that you may lack the requisite level of competence needed to contribute positively here. You may be able to change that perception by seeking out a mentor or entering the adopt a user program after the block expires. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:26, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Joe Dan Mills Elementary School

The article Joe Dan Mills Elementary School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No signifcant claim to WP:N per WP:CORP. Generally, elementary and middle schools are not notable. Footnote 3 at Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Literature in 1957

Hello - I was trying to move the text from 1957 in Literature to Literature in 1957 (since the article is about literary events in 1957 rather than about how 1957 features in literature!). However I've just been informed that "cut-and-paste" is the wrong way to do it, and have had the "Move" tab pointed out to me. Sorry for the mess! I want to fix this - please do go ahead and delete the current Literature in 1957 page so I can create it properly. Thank you. I'll contact admin about it. (Sorry, I see you are not admin so ignore the inappropriate request I've just struck through.) Alfietucker (talk) 14:00, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

Altered speedy deletion rationale: John vimalraj

Hello Rubinkumar. I am just letting you know that I deleted John vimalraj, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided. While A7 does apply for pages with only external links, we usually delete pages like that under CSD A3. Best — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 06:20, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

Passage du milieu

Hi Rubinkumar: I don't know why an article was created simply consisting of a statement that the article exists on French Wikipedia. But I also am puzzled that you then tagged it as written in a foreign language. The sentence is in English. If anything, shouldn't it have been tagged as no content? In fact the editor came back and actually wrote a stub, so perhaps the best take-away lesson here is: wait more than 2 minutes before tagging newly created articles. But I'm still scratching my head here ... Yngvadottir (talk) 13:56, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for informing me of my mistake. So, for future reference: What tag should I use when an article is written in a foreign language? Also, what do I do when the article just refers to another article on another language Wikipedia? --RubinkumarTalk 15:27, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
WP:CSD#A2 is the criterion, {{db-a2}} is what you type. That's only for articles that definitely are all foreign, and do have an existing article on another Wikipedia. If they don't, or you're not sure. use {{notenglish}} with a | and the name of the language after the notenglish but inside the }} if you know what it is. (The language name should have a capital at the start.) Then please follow the instructions for adding it to Pages Needing Translation WP:PNT. If you have knowledge of other languages, we could always do with help there. Peridon (talk) 15:51, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
The thing is, Rubinkumar, you used the appropriate tag for an article written in a foreign language - but it wasn't! So I am still puzzled. Is it possible you only looked at the title? Articles can perfectly well have foreign-language titles, you know - it's what language the article text is in that matters. Yngvadottir (talk) 15:59, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

Lord zaton

Hi. I've declined your speedy request as the article very clearly states that it is about a fictional character. A7 is only for real people (and named animals, web content and organised events). I've prodded it - you are welcome to add a prod2. Peridon (talk) 15:42, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
