James Andrews (physician)

edit

Hi Roy! I'm the content expert for your class and I'm just dropping in with a little feedback.

First off, I really like that you've expanded the article on Andrews to give readers a good overview of why he's notable and all of what he's done. This can be very difficult to do for physicians sometimes.

I did note, however, that you had a lengthy section about the patients he's treated and their specific injuries. You may want to remove this, as this could be seen as too WP:INDISCRIMINATE and detailed for Wikipedia's purposes. I also noticed that you used the Richest as a source, however this site is not considered to be a reliable source on Wikipedia because they don't always say where or how they get their numbers.

Finally, I saw that you do have several WP:PRIMARY sources, ie sources that are released by Andrews or people/organizations/businesses that are affiliated with him. Be careful when using these, as you do want to ensure that you have enough independent, in-depth sourcing to establish notability. You also want to be careful of using primary sourcing to back up claims like the one about him being a pioneer. The reason for this is that people can claim whatever they like - it's only when several of their peers and academic researchers consider them to be a pioneer that it should be added to the article. I think that you may have been referring to this source for the pioneer remark, however I would recommend that you not use things published by that website since the people who run the website classify themselves as a marketing network on both their main website and on their Linkedin page. This means that anything they write could have been something that they were hired to write and that they're not a non-partial source. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:43, 3 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
