Notability of William Reid McEwen edit

A tag has been placed on William Reid McEwen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Sorry Nyttend that you deleted McEwen. He was one of the best known and significant anti-modernists in this country and his editing of Evangelical Action for so long should have told you that. I'm not sufficiently up with wikipedia to know how to go further, but I should have thought he should be reinstated. I could add a bit more if needed.

Please read the Wikipedia standards for notability. You may have seen what I wrote: "Apparently a good and godly man, but being a minister doesn't make you notable at all". However, what information you provided doesn't attempt to show that he fulfills the notability standards: simply being a denominational magazine editor doesn't make you notable. You have to be the subject of study by multiple reliable independent sources, and the obituary and picture in the other magazine doesn't count for such a source. If you want to have an article on him, create it, but only if you can prove that he's notable according to our standards. Nyttend 21:33, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
