Request reason:

I have submitted an unblock request via the Wikipedia formal form, but will additionally make my claim here. First, I must say that this was my very first experience with editing on Wikipedia and I believe I am still learning the intricacies of the platform and the editing regulations. I completely understand the reason why I was blocked, and do not disagree with your decision, based on the page that I edited and your reviewed. What I would like to explain is that being a new editor on Wikipedia, I was not aware of the rules regarding editing, drafting and publishing articles. That is, I was under the impression that my "sandbox" was a personally drafting area, one that would not be accessible to others, and not yet accessible for review from Wikipedia. Because of this misunderstanding, I did copy and paste some content to this page, with a FULL intention of editing, changing and referencing this content before I ever planned to submit it. However, because I had this copied and more promotional language in my sandbox draft space, I completely understand Wikipedia's decision to block this page and my account. Having received this block, I have now become much more familiar with the regulations and guidelines of editing and creating pages on Wikipedia. I agree with the decision made initially for this block, but I would like to request the removal of this current block as I would like to be able to create more content and edit on Wikipedia in the future, and have a much better grasp on how to correctly do this. The page that I was editing was part of a project I am doing for my Masters program, where I am required to research companies and produce content about their organizational structures and media presence. For this project, I am creating many various types of media, and for one of the companies I wanted to produce this Wikipedia page. Again, I understand that Wikipedia content should not be promotional or have heavy advertising tones. I never meant to publish an article with this type of language, but again, I was unfamiliar about my sandbox being accessible and publishable, so I did not make edits to the content before logging off and intending to edit it later. I am now very familiar with the rules of referencing and tone, and would very much like to continue with this part of my project. Again, I take full responsibility for my previous actions, but do hope that I would be able to receive another chance as this was my first experience working with the Wikipedia editing system. Thank you for your assistance and understanding.

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You have a note on your user page that, despite the broken code, states that you have a conflict of interest regarding Colibo. Please explain how that agrees with the explanation above. Huon (talk) 01:50, 14 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
