editHello, I'm Shellwood. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to Gerald Carroll— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. - I've reverted this change again. As below, the subjects of Wikipedia articles do not control the contents of those articles. In your edit summary, you state
- I have been instructed by Gerald Carroll personally to edit the page which has factual errors which was published by 3rd parties without approval or consent).
- Wikipedia does not require the consent of an article's subject to host an article about that person, any more than a newspaper requires consent of the person to write an article about them. The facts included in Carroll's biography are backed up by citations to reliable sources. If you or Mr Carroll has issue with the article's content, please take it up on the article's talk page. If there are facts in the article that you believe are incorrect, please provide citations to reliable sources to verify that they are incorrect. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:48, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
Carroll Group
editYour edits to the Carroll Group article have been reverted. You summarized your edits saying
- I am instructed by the Carroll Family to make correctional changes as previously advised
Unfortunately, the Carroll Family does not get to choose what is written at Wikipedia. The article in question is about a company that went defunct in the early 1990s. If there is another company currently doing business under this name, it is unfortunate that they have chosen a name so sullied by history, but that is unavoidable.
