Betsy Ross

edit

My edit to the Betsy Ross Patriot flag article was not published even though it was cited. What is the problem? RonWillow (talk) 09:36, 1 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

The lead is a summary of the body of the article. Prose should not be added to the lead unless it is well covered in the article itself, and the composition of the lead should give due weight to things depending on their coverage. You added information directly to the lead, adding two paragraphs and making that information, which isn't covered in the article body, as prominent as the rest of the lead. It would make more sense to add a well sourced, single paragraph to the Political and cultural significance section of the article. In this case you should read Talk:Betsy Ross flag as there is an on-going discussion on the topic of additions similar to yours. Hope this helps.

I just saw This question in the archives. Just in case the response above didn't cover everything.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 23:40, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your recent contributions on the Kalpa (aeon) page have been reverted. The content was unsourced (see WP:RS). Also, the markup for the new "Green Snake" section was malformed due to text appearing after it on the same line (see WP:SECT). Jroberson108 (talk) 19:58, 7 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
